Fergus raised the bid immediately. “120 million dollars!”

Fergus won the bid for Plot No. 190 in the Western District.

Nancy was rather speechless, too. Fergus was truly so incredibly stupid.
However, she noticed that the hat–wearing man had his head lowered and was typing out a message on his phone. Gideon also happened to have his head lowered and was holding his phone.
She figured out the entire situation immediately. It looked like the man was one of Gideon’s subordinates. Why was Gideon targeting Fergus, though?
The auction progressed quickly.
Several large companies were all competing for land in the Eastern District.
Raine noticed the issue and asked, “Why are they all fighting for land in the Eastern District, Fergie?”
Fergus narrowed his eyes. “It’s possible that they have no choice but to fight for land in the Eastern District since they didn’t manage to get any in the Western District.”
“Is that so?” Raine asked, frowning. “I just have a feeling that something’s not quite right.”
“Oh, don’t worry, Raine. The tougher the competition over a plot of land, the more valuable it is. Look at how expensive our land is. It just proves that it’s really valuable!” Fergus declared confidently. “The position of heir is definitely ours.‘
Raine still had the feeling that something wasn’t quite right, but she couldn’t put her finger on it. In the end, she could only nod.
Soon, the auction progressed to the last two plots of land, and the competition became fiercer than ever.

The competition over the last plot of land was even fiercer, and the bidding price quickly went up to 300 million dollars–an exorbitant price, even for the wealthy elites present.
Christopher eventually raised his hand. “330 million dollars!”
In the end, Duran Corporation won the bid for the last plot of land at that price.
The auction eventually came to an end. Everyone stood up and left one after another.
When Fergus saw Nancy and Christopher, he said mockingly, “It probably wasn’t Mr. Wentworth’s idea to spend so much on that plot of land. It was Nancy’s, right? Aren’t you just putting yourself in a position to make a loss?”
Raine batted her lashes at Nancy. “That’s right. Could it be that you don’t know that land in the Western District is worth more, Nancy?”
Nancy replied indifferently, “Just keep thinking that.”
A hint of pity flashed through her eyes. They would still think they’d received accurate information until Riversdale’s top real estate tycoons kicked them out of their doors. How pitiful.
Still, she was rather surprised that Gideon had really given up the land to her and Christopher.
When they arrived in the parking lot, Nancy noticed Gideon’s Rolls–Royce not too far away. She wanted to walk over to speak with him, but then subconsciously recalled Ian’s words and gave up on the notion.
“Let’s head back to the office,” she said, getting into the car.

“Did you do it on purpose, Nancy?” Fergus bellowed in a voice filled with anger and hatred. ” You knew a garbage dump was going to be built in the Western District, so you competed over land in the Eastern District without telling me about this!
“You’re too cruel, Nancy! Will you only be satisfied once the Lidell family is doomed?”
