Andrew immediately extended his hand toward lan. “Hello, Mr. Moore. I’m the CEO of Lidell Group, Andrew Lidell.”
Ian didn’t even spare him a glance. He simply said coldly, “If you have any business with me, please get straight to the point.”
Andrew retracted his hand a little awkwardly. He cursed inwardly before replying, “We already understand your intentions, Mr. Moore. We’ve also discussed the matter within our family.”
Ian looked at Andrew in bafflement.
His intentions? What intentions?
Andrew elaborated with an air of reluctance, “Raine is my daughter, and I’ve raised her for so many years. As such, I’m naturally reluctant to part with her. Still, if she’s really caught your eye, Mr. Moore, we’re willing to let you adopt her. We also hope for a better future for her,
after all.”
Ian and Freya were both stunned silent.
In all their years of engaging in business, this was their first time encountering such a shameless person.
However, the Lidell family interpreted their stunned expressions as them being so happy that they were at a loss for words.
Regina said seriously, “Although we’re willing to let you adopt Raine, we also have a few requests. We hope that Raine will be allowed to return home once a month. Also, Moore Group and Lidell Group must collaborate on projects every year.
“Only in this way can we maintain the relationship between our families. Of course, we also want to visit Raine once a month…”
She rambled on and on.
Ian and Freya gradually regained their senses. They both had complicated expressions on their faces.
Raine immediately tugged on Regina’s sleeve and interjected, “There’s no need to say so much, Mom. I trust the Moore family.”

“Well then, Mr. Moore, shall we discuss when to proceed with the adoption process?” asked
Andrew.
Regina added, “By the way, do you both agree with the terms I mentioned just now?”
“Why should I?” lan asked in return.
Regina exclaimed, “That’s the only way I’ll feel at ease letting you adopt Raine!”
She looked bold and confident. It was as if she wasn’t going to let Ian and Freya adopt Raine if
they didn’t agree to her terms.
Ian only felt disgusted at that moment. “Sorry, but we won’t be agreeing to your terms.”
Regina frowned. “You want to take our daughter from us, yet you won’t even agree to the most basic requests, Mr. Moore? Isn’t that too much? In that case, we won’t agree to letting you adopt Raine either!”
She felt that she’d already held back a lot when making her demands.
They definitely deserved to ask for far more in exchange for Raine’s adoption!
“Keep her, then. We don’t want her anyway,” Ian said coldly.
As soon as those words left his mouth, the Lidells were stunned.
Upon seeing Ian and Freya get up to leave, Andrew became slightly panicked.
He said hurriedly, “My wife was just being insensible and joking around, Mr. Moore. We just hope that Raine will grow up healthy and happy with your family, that’s all. We’re not asking for anything more!”

With those words, she and Ian left the room.
Raine shumped back against the couch, feeling completely drained.
