Chapter 51 Cherish the Chance
The next morning, Nancy woke up just as the morning light streamed into the room. She got up on
time and washed up without delay.
When she picked up her phone, she found messages from Hillary that read, “Nancy! Why exactly
am I with Skylar?”
Nancy replied, “You drank too much, so Skylar sent you home. Is something wrong?”
Hillary replied, “Well…”
When Nancy saw that Hillary was hesitant in her reply, she decided to call her.
Hillary stared at the phone in her hand, heart thudding as if she were on the edge of a cliff. At this moment, she could hear the sound of Skylar turning over in bed.
Sure enough, a low and husky voice sounded from behind her. “Is something the matter?”
Hillary quickly ended the call and turned toward Skylar. He was still wickedly handsome despite
just waking up, and a haze of drowsiness was still present in his eyes.
“You…” Hillary couldn’t bring herself to speak, merely gripping the sheets around herself.
Skylar, now more awake, glanced at her and snorted. After that, he got out of bed and picked up
the clothes on the floor.
His broad and toned back came into Hillary’s view without warning. She didn’t expect him to have such a good body!
However, she quickly realized it wasn’t the time to be thinking about such a thing.
Hillary immediately asked, “Why are we in the same bed?”
Both of them were naked for Heaven’s sake! Hillary was left utterly humiliated. She couldn’t understand how Skylar could be so calm about the whole situation.
Skylar glanced back at her while still buttoning his shirt. He flashed her a half–smile and challenged, “What do you think?”
Her mind leapt straight to the worst possible conclusion. “Don’t tell me…”
“That’s right,” Skylar admitted.
Hillary felt her world spin, and she almost fainted on the spot. If she had truly done something wrong, she would have preferred any other punishment to this!
Skylar’s expression darkened when he saw her stricken expression. “Hillary, what’s with that
look?”
Skylar only wanted to tease her, but it seemed like she was revolted by the mere idea of being
with him Thus, he decided not to tell her the truth.
“You” Hillary gritted her teeth and struggled for words. A few seconds later, she took a deep

breath and continued, “Forget it. What’s done is done. Skylar, listen carefully.”
Skylar crossed his arms and looked at her calmly.
Hillary continued, “Let’s pretend that nothing happened today.”
2/2
Skylar felt something heavy in his chest, and his voice turned cold. “Funny. I haven’t even had my say yet.”
“Whatever. Consider this your payment for the night.” Hillary dug out a bill from her pocket and flung it at him. “Forget that this ever happened. Thank you!”
After saying that, Hillary grabbed her clothes and marched into the bathroom to get dressed.
Skylar looked at the bill angrily and silently cursed her.
Meanwhile, Nancy’s call was automatically disconnected when Hillary didn’t answer. She found the whole situation strange and sent her friend another text message, only to receive a reply from Hillary that everything was fine.
Nancy was about to call again when an incoming call beat her to it.
An indifferent voice sounded from the other end of the line. “I invited Wendy over to the house. Return for lunch at noon. Also, settle the issue with Duran Corporation while you’re at it.”
It was none other than Regina. Although her tone seemed calm, Nancy could sense the impatience in her voice.
Nancy replied, “I don’t need lunch.”
Regina’s strained voice was dripping with impatience now. “I doubt you can settle it yourself. Stop acting tough. If it weren’t for Raine, Wendy wouldn’t even have agreed to come. This is your only chance to solve this *
