Chapter 45 Interrupted
Skylar moved subtly. “Why did she hit you?”
Wendy replied, “She wanted to help Nancy! Hillary did that to me because I exposed Duran
Skincare for what it really is!”
“If that’s the case, don’t you think you’ve gone too far?” Skylar narrowed his eyes at Hillary.
Clenching her fists, Hillary stared at Skylar with an unyielding look.
At this moment, Nancy said, “Mr. Gibson, Wendy tarnished our brand. Hillary only hit her to stand
up for what’s right.”
“How could you hit someone just because you think you’re right?” Skylar wore a smile, but his
voice was cold.
Wendy looked at Hillary and Nancy arrogantly. Now that Skylar was taking the matter into his
hands, the two would be doomed.
Displeased, Hillary questioned, “What are you going to do, then? I’ve already hit her.”
Skylar raised an eyebrow. “How arrogant!”
“Hmph!” Hillary turned her head.
Skylar cast his gaze upon Wendy. “What do you want?”
Wendy was thrilled to see Skylar taking her side, so she acted all weak and aggrieved. “Sky, Hillary might be an A–list star, but she has this terrible habit of hitting people.
“I don’t mind getting hit, but what if she sets a bad example for young people? I think she’s not
suitable to be a celebrity!”
Wendy went straight for the kill and demanded that Hillary be blacklisted from the entertainment
industry.
Nancy narrowed her eyes at Wendy’s ruthless scheme.
Everyone was stunned upon hearing that, wondering if Skylar would actually go that far. After all, Hillary was an award–winning actress. Was she really going to be shelved like that?
Wendy’s friends also grew cocky. They were all cameos who had long been envious of Hillary. Yet, they got to trample over Hillary because of Wendy now.
One of them jeered, “Hillary, it’s a terrible habit to hit someone. Why don’t you apologize to Wendy, and we’ll call it even?
“Of course, just an apology isn’t enough. Wendy’s been wronged terribly. You should at least get down on your knees, right? What do you think?”
Hillary snapped, “Who do you think you are?”
Jasmine Lockhart looked at Skylar angrily “Mr. Gibson, if Hillary has the nerve to act like this

when you’re here, imagine how far she would go to bully Wendy when you’re not around!”
Skylar narrowed his eyes at Hillary and stayed silent.
“Hillary, you’d better not think of having your way while Mr. Gibson is around!” Jasmine went to pull Hillary over. “Come over here and apologize to Wendy!”
Unexpectedly, another hand seized her wrist. As a sharp pain shot through her, she looked up in disbelief at Nancy. “Ah! Let go! You’re hurting me!”
“Jasmine!” Wendy rushed over to check on her, then looked up at Skylar with tearful eyes. “Mr. Gibson, just look at them!”
Skylar glanced at Nancy and Hillary. “Both of you are going too far.”
Suddenly, the bar manager walked over and interrupted them, “Ladies, you’ve been invited
upstairs. Everyone else, please return to your seats and enjoy the drinks. Mr. Fuller is picking up the tab today!”

“Oh my goodness. I can’t believe Mr. Fuller is here today!” someone gushed.
“Do you think Mr. Gibson was drinking with him just now?” another person asked.
Everyone was bubbling with excitement, for they hadn’t expected to bump into two big shots today.
Wendy wanted to follow after seeing that Hillary and Nancy had headed upstairs. However, the manager stopped her. “My apologies.”
Wendy stomped her foot and turned to Skylar. “Sky, they went upstairs.‘
Skylar shrugged. “There’s nothing I can do about that. You know who Mr. Fuller is.”
With that, Skylar went upstairs, while Wendy flew into a rage.
