Chapter 42 They Even Dare to Mess with Nancy
“I think so too! Wendy is so pathetic. Has Duran said anything yet?”
“But actually, the Duran Skincare products I used were really good.”
Comments flooded in below, most expressing sympathy for Wendy and criticizing Duran.
On social media, the hashtag “Wendy Allergy” went viral.
It surpassed a million mentions as users flooded social media with complaints about Duran skincare products.
Duran Skincare’s official Twitter page was completely flooded with negative feedback.
“Our sales are already dropping, and many customers are demanding refunds,” Hannah said anxiously.
“Ms. Moore, should I go meet the actress now?”
“Not yet. Hold off for now,” Nancy replied.
After ending the call, Nancy glanced at the news. Hillary immediately asked, “What’s going on?”
Nancy showed her the screen, and Hillary swore, “That little bitch! She’s definitely doing this on purpose!”
“I know she is,” Nancy said, her eyes darkening. “Wendy, Raine…”
Nancy hadn’t planned on tangling with the Lidell family. She only intended to secure the bidding project and then leave.
But now that those two had come knocking at her door, she wasn’t going to go easy on them.
Hillary caught the determined look in Nancy’s eyes and shivered.
She could already imagine how badly Wendy was going to suffer. But they deserved every bit of it.
How dare they mess with Nancy!
Just as Nancy had expected, Wendy had carefully planned this scheme with Raine..
When Wendy woke up and saw the aftermath of the incident, she smiled faintly and immediately video–called Raine. “Raine, how did I do?”
“Fantastic,” Raine replied with a grin. “Just be careful. Nancy is very cunning. Don’t give her any room to retaliate.”
“Don’t worry. The makeup I used is waterproof. No one will suspect a thing.”
In fact, Wendy’s allergic reaction was entirely fake.
If only Nancy had told her the person across from her was Hillary, she wouldn’t have been so embarrassed
After she got back, Wendy had a good cry and vented to Raine. That was when they came up with

their plan.

Wendy said, “I don’t have any plans anyway, so I can take a few days to rest. If Nancy doesn’t pay me a hefty sum, I’m not letting her off the hook.”
“Wendy, you’ve worked hard,” Raine said softly.
“It’s no trouble at all.” Wendy smiled, her eyes shining with hope. “By the way, Raine, I heard you’re learning to dance from Nanette. That’s incredible! Only a brilliant dancer like you could
catch Nanette’s attention!”
“I’m really happy to be learning from Nanette,” Raine said, her eyes shining with pride and satisfaction.
“Yes, I’m sure you’ll win first place at the National Dance Competition,” Wendy replied, then sighed. 2
“It’s just a shame how tough the entertainment industry is these days. There are so few good scripts out there. That’s why I’ve been in this business for years but still haven’t made a name for myself.”
Raine asked, “Do you know Natalie?”
“Natalie? Of course. She’s a big deal right now, and she’s a highly sought–after screenwriter.”
Raine smiled. “She’s a friend of Winter’s, and I’m on good terms with Winter these days. If the right opportunity comes up, I’d be happy to introduce you.‘
“Really? Raine, I love you!” Winter was overjoyed.
Following Raine had definitely been the right choice.

As the eldest daughter of the Lidell family, Raine had an extensive network of connections and was even part of the prestigious Boraskan elite circle.
Nancy? She was insignificant by comparison.
Chances were, Nancy didn’t know a single person in that circle.
Raine smiled warmly. “You’re my cousin. Whenever something good comes up, you’ll always be the first person I think of. By the way, how are things going with that guy?”
Wendy sighed. “He hasn’t really been reaching out lately, but I guess that’s ‘to be expected.”
“Don’t worry about it. It just means you’re more charming than the other actresses,” Raine
reassured her.
“You’re right! Not everyone gets a WhatsApp from Mr. Gibson,” Wendy said.
Wendy was still basking in pride when another call came through.
