Chapter 41 Allergic Reaction
“Apologize, Wendy,” Nancy demanded coldly.
Wendy’s lips twitched as she glanced at the eager crowd of fans, realizing she couldn’t leave without saying sorry.
“I’m sorry!” she blurted out, then hurried out of the restaurant.
“Hillary!” the fans called, turning their attention to her.
Hillary winked. “I can sign autographs, but you have to keep it a secret, okay?”
“No problem!” the fans replied.
Luckily, the upscale barbecue restaurant wasn’t very crowded.
The autographs were quickly handed out, and the two friends finished their meal swiftly before heading out.
In the car, Hillary sighed in relief. “I can’t believe Wendy is your sister.”
“My cousin,” Nancy corrected, briefly outlining her family tree.
Hillary scoffed. “It seems like there aren’t many decent people in the Lidell family.”
“Do you want to come over to my place and rest?” Nancy asked, neither confirming nor denying the comment.
“Absolutely!”
The two friends were so happy to be reunited that they stayed up talking until 3:00 am before finally going to sleep.
The next morning, Nancy was about to head out for breakfast when she noticed a message from Gideon.
“My assistant bought too much breakfast. I left half of it outside your door. Help yourself when you wake up.”
Nancy opened her door and found a neatly packed bag waiting for her.
The selection was impressive. There were oat milk, donuts, and sandwiches.
After washing up, she took a sip of the oat milk and felt a comforting warmth spread through her.
“Wow, you already got breakfast, babe? That’s so thoughtful,” Hillary said, stepping out of her room, clearly surprised.
“It’s from Gideon,” Nancy responded.
Hillary, who had just grabbed a donut, froze. “Gideon? How far along are you two?”
Nancy sighed “It’s not what you think He lives downstairs, and his assistant bought way too many donuts, so he gave some to me ”

“Tsk, tsk! I don’t buy that Gideon would just share food because he had extra.” Hillary took another bite, eyeing Nancy with a knowing look. “Regardless of his reasons, with his looks and physique, he’s definitely top–tier around here. I’d say it’d be fun to mess around with him.”
Nancy nearly choked.
A vivid image of Gideon’s body involuntarily popped into her mind.
Gideon had a well–built and perfectly proportioned physique. He was undeniably impressive.
“Huh?” Hillary’s face suddenly appeared right in front of Nancy. “What are you thinking about?”
Nancy blinked and pushed Hillary’s face away. “Don’t just talk about Gideon. Honestly, Skylar isn’t
so bad either.”
“Him? He switches girlfriends as often as he changes his outfit. He has a new one every single day. Don’t his partners ever worry about catching something like HIV?” Hillary said, her face twisted in disgust.
“Sure, there are plenty of rumors, but there’s never been any proof or photos of him actually going into a hotel with anyone. Don’t you think that’s a bit strange?” Nancy questioned.
Hillary shook her head. “Not really. He’s just the typical playboy‘

Seeing that they weren’t on the same page, Nancy dropped the subject. Suddenly, her phone rang. It was a call from Hannah.
Hannah didn’t usually call at this hour.
“What’s wrong, Hannah?” Nancy asked.
Hannah’s voice was frantic. “Something terrible has happened. Someone has gone public, claiming they had an allergic reaction after using our product!”
Nancy frowned. “Who?”
“I sent you the details.”
Nancy opened the chat and clicked the link. It led to a news article reporting that the actress Wendy had suffered an allergic reaction the night before after using a Duran skincare product. Her face was covered in red blotches.
The photo was included, and the reaction looked truly alarming.
The comments section was flooded with responses.
“This is so scary! Is Duran even a reliable brand?”
“Has anyone else noticed how aggressive Duran’s marketing has become recently? It’s absolutely everywhere Usually, when a brand suddenly goes viral like this, I tend to avoid buying it.”
