Chapter 33 Gideon’s Birthday
Rebecca, too, was anxious. “Ms. Seabourne, did they win?”
Winter replied coldly, “Give me the account number, and I’ll transfer the money to you.”
With that, Winter turned and walked away.
Clara and the others froze for a moment, then burst into excited cheers.
“Ms. Moore, you won this! Once I receive it, I’ll pass it to you!” Clara said.
“No need. Once I’ve transferred it to you, it’s yours.”
Clara and the others looked at Nancy with a mixture of excitement and admiration.
Nancy was unbelievably generous. She didn’t want a single cent of that money.
In any other company, no one would ever hand over that kind of money to their employees.
Rebecca watched them cheer and felt a sharp pang of jealousy at the thought of 100 thousand dollars.
They were only here for a one–night team–building retreat, yet Nancy’s team had earned 100 thousand dollars, which was almost half of Rebecca’s annual salary.
A flicker of regret stirred within Rebecca.
As everyone finished eating, they began to head back.
Nancy, however, wasn’t in a hurry to sleep. She finally came here for a vacation, so she began to stroll leisurely along the path.
As she passed by a room, someone stepped out and caught sight of Nancy, a flicker of surprise crossing his face. “It’s you.”
Nancy was equally taken aback. “You! Are you on vacation here, too?”
“Yeah, what a coincidence.” The man smiled. He was youthful and composed, carrying an effortless air of nobility. “Are you here for a holiday?”
“Of course. Isn’t that why everyone’s here?”
“I’m here to see someone.” He looked at Nancy, his gaze unfathomable. Just then, a figure rushed into his arms
“Alex!” Raine whispered softly, her eyes filled with affection.
Alex Fuller hummed quietly and gently eased Raine away. When Raine noticed Nancy standing across from them, her expression immediately darkened. “Nancy, what are you doing here?”
Could this cheap woman be secretly meeting with Alex?
Raine’s nerves shot up instantly. She wouldn’t allow that to happen.
She might give up her status as a Lidell, but never her place as the fiancée of a Fuller. How many

socialites would kill to marry into the prestigious Fuller family?
“You know her, too?” Alex asked, surprised.
2/2
Raine looked unsettled. “I’ll explain later, Alex.” Then she turned to Nancy, keeping her guard up. Nancy, Alex is my boyfriend. I hope you’ll stay away from him.”
Nancy hadn’t expected them to be a couple. She gave Alex a quick, sympathetic glance and walked away.
After she left, Raine looked at Alex, anxiety written across her face. “You shouldn’t talk to her anymore.”
“Why not?” Alex asked.
IP
“Because she hates the Lidell family,” Raine explained. “My mother has two children, and she was the one given away as a baby. Now that she’s back, she’s full of resentment toward our family. She might even try to come after you.”
Her voice dropped to a whisper. “So, Alex, don’t believe anything she says.”
Alex watched the figure disappear into the darkness, his brow knitting into a frown.
Later, as Nancy was walking back, she heard a familiar voice. She quickly ducked behind a wall and spotted two figures not far off. It was Winter and Gideon.
Gideon was here, too?
“Gideon, it’s your birthday today. Happy birthday!” Winter said shyly as she offered a small gift
box.
Gideon’s tone was cold. “That’s not necessary.”
“Please, Gideon. Just take it. I’ve been preparing this for a long time,” Winter urged, pressing the gift into his hand. Afraid he’d refuse, she quickly turned and walked away.
Nancy raised an eyebrow, glanced at her phone, and saw it was past midnight. So today was Gideon’s birthday.
