Chapter 221 Could Nancy Really Save Martha

The private room fell silent.

Nancy frowned, then realized Gideon must have arranged all this for her. Her eyes softened with a trace of warmth. “There’s no need. Two rooms are enough.”

Everyone slowly came to. Their expressions shifted, especially Regina’s and Raine’s.

Raine’s knuckles whitened around her spoon. She couldn’t believe that all of this had been prepared for Nancy.

Regina lowered her voice. “Raine, what’s going on? Didn’t Alex know you were in Boraska?”

“I… I didn’t tell him. I don’t know if he knows.” Sweat beaded across Raine’s forehead.

Martha slapped a palm against the table. Her cool gaze swept the room. “Some people really are full of themselves. They take what belongs to someone else and claim it as their own!”

Regina bit her lower lip as if she’d been slapped, while Raine’s cheeks burned red with shame.

“Since this welcome dinner isn’t for Raine, please give us the room. I’d like to dine alone with Grandma,” Nancy said as she sat back down, her voice calm but commanding.

Fergus frowned. “Nancy, we’re family. How can you ask us to leave?”

“You can stay, but someone needs to apologize,” Nancy said coldly. “But asking her to apologize is like asking for her life, yes?”

All eyes turned to Regina. Her face went pale, and her lips trembled.

With Nancy staring her down, Regina couldn’t force a word out.

Did Nancy hate her that much? She had carried her for nine months. Why did she treat her like an enemy?

“Fine. We’ll leave if that’s what you want. Happy now?” Regina snapped, her voice breaking. ” Nancy, you’re heartless! You’ll never know what real love is!”

With that, she stormed out the door.

Andrew had no choice but to follow. The others trailed soon after, too embarrassed to stay.

Emma paused at the entrance. “Did we choose the wrong side? Nancy actually has a friend willing to do so much for her.”

“Maybe it’s Yelena,” Wendy said, jealousy flashing in her eyes. “But even if they’re close, it’s

nothing more than friendship. Raine is Alex’s girlfriend. She’s going to marry him someday!”

Emma wavered. “What about the surgery? Could Nancy really save Martha?”

“Mom, please! The doctors all said that only Dr. Gales can save Grandma. If Nancy insists on treating her, Grandma could die. Then, everyone will blame Nancy,” Wendy said with

certainty. “Raine will find a way to push Nancy out. Trust me on this. Siding with Raine is the right call!”

“Alright.”

In the private room, Martha placed food on Nancy’s plate. “The dishes in Boraska really do taste different from those in Riversdale. The flavors are richer.”

“Have some more, Grandma,” Nancy said as she added food to Martha’s plate as well.

Martha nodded and studied Nancy’s face. “Nancy, don’t take Regina’s words to heart.”

“I won’t,” Nancy said with a smile. “She’s not worth me getting upset.”

“Exactly.” Martha let out a sigh of relief. “If she’s not worth it, then it doesn’t matter if she’s your mother. She’s still not worth it!”

Nancy smiled warmly and nodded. “You’re right, Grandma.”

After dinner, they headed upstairs to their rooms.

Just then, Nancy’s phone rang, and the caller ID showed that it was Gideon calling.

“Did you get to the hotel?” he asked.

“Yes. And thank you for the welcome dinner,” Nancy replied.

“Don’t mention it. I’ve reached Dr. Gales,” Gideon said.

Right then, a muffled protest crackled on the line. “Gideon, don’t think I’ll agree just because of who you are!”

Nancy’s eyes narrowed. “Did you manage to get hold of Dr. Gales?”
