Chapter 22 Picking a Fight
To Winter’s delight, Nancy had been forced out of Boraska. Winter had been in a good mood for three days when she learned about the news. Never did she expect to bump into Nancy there.
Nancy narrowed her eyes at Winter. “Who told you I was forced out of Boraska?”
Winter snatched the emerald bracelet out of Nancy’s hand. “Hmph. I’m not going to tell you. Be careful, Nancy. You can’t afford to pay for it if you break the bracelet.”
Winter lifted a brow and teased, “If you really want it, I’ll give it to you if you get on your knees and ask nicely. How about that?”
“Ms. Seabourne, your bootlicker’s over there,” said Nancy, casting a look at Raine, who scowled instantly.
It was true that Raine wanted to get on Winter’s side, but Nancy’s words were too harsh.
Fixing her gaze on Nancy, Winter sneered, “Fine. Get out then. I’m booking the entire store today so I can take my time to pick a birthday gift for Gideon.

“Gideon? As in Gideon Fuller? His birthday is coming soon?” Nancy wondered.
“What are you still standing there for? Get lost already!” Winter shouted arrogantly.
“Sorry, but I don’t think you have the power to do that yet.”
Winter hated how Nancy always looked calm and composed. “Very well. Let me see whose property this is. I’d like to find out if I have the power to make you leave.”
Winter looked it up on her phone, only to look surprised moments later. “Oh boy. Can you believe it’s Gideon’s? His properties are all over the place!”
At that, Winter happily dialed Gideon’s number. Meanwhile, Nancy simply watched her with quiet amusement. She wanted to find out how Gideon would

Once the call connected, Winter called out sweetly, “Gideon, I’m at SP Jewelry in Boraska. I want to take my time and shop here. Can I be the only customer here today?”

Nancy was close enough to hear Gideon’s icy tone. “Why?”
“Because it’s too noisy here. Please, Gideon…”

When Gideon saw the familiar slender figure, he instantly caught on to the situation. Meanwhile, Winter was still asking sweetly, “Pretty please. The call ended abruptly. Nancy couldn’t be bothered to waste her energy on Winter. She snatched the bracelet from Winter and pulled out a card. “I’d like to pay.”
The sales assistant led Nancy to the register and said, “Miss, that will be 2.25 million.
Nancy hummed in acknowledgement.
“It’s more than two million, Nancy. I heard you’re working at Duran now. Your monthly salary’s just tens of thousands of dollars, right? Why keep up the act?”
