Chapter 199 Betrayal 

Natalie looked at Hanson’s weak, pathetic state and felt nothing but disgust. Without a word, she 

turned and walked away. 

Inside the event hall, the award ceremony wrapped up, and people began filing out. 

Hillary found herself surrounded by a crowd. 

“Hillary, I never thought Wendy could be so vicious! When you were getting trashed online a while back, I honestly felt so bad for you.” 

“From now on, we’re done with Wendy. Hillary, your new drama series is amazing. I’ve already finished the whole thing!” 

Hillary offered them polite, detached responses until she finally managed to slip away to the parking 

lot. 

The moment she got into a certain Rolls-Royce, she threw her arms around Nancy. “Babe, this was 

all thanks to you. I love you so much!” 

“You did amazing yourself. That’s exactly who you are,” Nancy said with a smile. 

“I can’t wait for Wendy to be blacklisted for good!” Hillary snorted twice, then glanced at Skylar sitting nearby. Remembering what he had said earlier, she suddenly felt a little uneasy. 

But Skylar was still as carefree as ever. “We helped you out. Aren’t you going to treat us to dinner?” 

“Of course! Let’s go. What do you guys want to eat?” Hillary asked. 

They soon picked a restaurant, and they ate together in a perfectly cheerful atmosphere. 

As soon as Wendy woke up in the hospital, she thought everything that had happened before passing 

out was just a nightmare. 

But when she unlocked her phone, the flood of hateful comments from netizens dragged her straight back to reality. In just two hours, she had lost half her fans. 

The buzz around their drama was also tanking fast. 

She sat on the bed in a daze as tears rolled down her face. 

How could this be happening? Why was this happening? 

Her position as the heir was gone! 

Curling into herself, she hugged her knees and sobbed. After a while, a chime of a special alert on her 

 

phone came. 

She grabbed her phone and saw that Hanson had just posted on Twitter. 

At a time like this, what could he possibly be posting? 

Could he be… defending her? 

Wiping away her tears, she tapped on the post. 

 

“I’m sorry, 

but I was forced into this. Wendy is the Lidell family’s daughter. She threatened me and said that if I didn’t go along with her, she’d blacklist me. I had no choice!” 

His fans rushed to comfort him. 

“Oh my God! I knew Hanson would never frame anyone. Turns out he was forced. Wendy is pure evil! 

“That bitch actually threatened our idol! Are all the Lidells like this?” 

“Wendy should just die already! Shameless!” 

The comments section was full of people tearing her apart. 

Wendy’s face went white. 

Did Hanson do this to her? Who the hell did he think he was? How could he do this to her? 

She was just about ready to faint from rage when she spotted another post from Natalie. 

“It turns out this was all a setup, and even I was fooled. I thought everything Wendy said was true, so 

I spoke up for her as I’ve always believed in supporting women. I feel awful that my actions dragged Hillary into this. I’m truly sorry!” 

The apology won her a wave of goodwill. 

Naturally, all the angry netizens doubled down on Wendy. 

Benson quickly followed up with a similar post. 

Everyone was pushing the blame onto Wendy. 

Her inbox overflowed with vicious, hateful messages. Tears welled up in her eyes, her hands trembled, and she suddenly shouted, “You bastards! So when something blows up, I’m the only one left holding the bag? I’ll never let you get away with this!” 

Her hatred for them was bone-deep. She was ready to expose them all when someone suddenly 

walked into her ward. 

“Raine!” 

 

Seeing Raine, Wendy felt a surge of relief, as if she’d grasped a lifeline. “They’re all so ruthless! They left me to fend for myself!”
