Chapter 180 How Did These Two End Up Together Again

Alex hadn’t finished speaking when two familiar figures approached. Raine immediately got excited and waved to them. “Winter!”

“I didn’t expect to see you here.” Winter’s expression was calm, but when she saw Alex, her face immediately lit up. “Alex, you’re here, too. Where’s your uncle?”

“My uncle is up ahead,” Alex replied.

Winter glanced over, but Gideon had already gone inside, so she didn’t see him.

Alex added, “He just went inside.”

Winter nodded. “Then, I’ll head in first.”

Wendy asked curiously, “Does Winter like Alex’s uncle?”

“Yeah, Alex’s uncle is quite a powerful person,” Raine replied, wondering what Gideon looked like. But she’d see him soon enough once they went inside.

She then turned to look at Irene before asking Wendy, “Why did you bring her along to the auction?”

“She’s here to help me carry things!” Wendy said while touching her freshly done nails. “We’re thinking of going shopping later. Raine, do you want to come with us?”

Raine was about to decline since she wanted to spend some alone time with Alex. But when she caught the way his eyes drifted toward Irene, unfocused for just a moment, a pang of unease hit her.

“Yeah, sure! But can she even get into the venue?” Raine asked.

“Of course not. She’ll wait outside.” Wendy sneered at Irene and grabbed Raine’s arm. “Raine, let’s go inside.”

“Okay.”

The three of them entered the auction, and Irene stood quietly at the door.

Alex instinctively looked back at her again.

“Alex, you should stay away from Irene,” Raine whispered. “Her mother seduced my uncle and then gave birth to her. She’s just like her mother, always trying to seduce people. She even tried to seduce the staff members in the house before!”

“Really?” Alex frowned. He didn’t think Irene would do such a thing with those clear eyes of hers. She certainly didn’t seem like that kind of person.

Seeing that Alex didn’t believe her, Raine exaggerated even more. “Alex, I’m telling you the truth! You can check with Wendy if you don’t believe me. Irene not only tried to seduce the maids but also

had an affair with a married man!”

Wendy immediately chimed in, “That’s right! She’s disgusting. Alex, you’d better stay away from

her.”

Alex didn’t say anything more. “The auction is about to start. Let’s hurry inside.”

Winter had entered first, and she immediately started searching for Gideon. She quickly spotted him at the front and was about to greet him when she noticed Nancy sitting at his side.

Nancy? How did those two end up together again?

Her heart twisted in pain, and jealousy almost consumed her. What made Nancy so deserving of him?

Sure, Nancy might be a little prettier and more accomplished, but she wasn’t even from an elite family!

Winter returned to her seat, looking a little lost. Curious, Wendy asked, “Winter, did you find Mr. Fuller?”

“I didn’t see him,” Winter replied flatly, though her nails pressed so hard into the armrest that the fabric nearly tore.

Wendy asked, “Could it be that Mr. Fuller was too busy and had to leave early again?”

Seeing that Winter wasn’t responding, Wendy gave up and quietly waited for the auction to begin.

Soon, the host took the stage, and the auction officially started.

Raine had her eye on a few pieces of jewelry, and Alex bought them all for her.

She smiled proudly from where she sat at his side.

The other young ladies in the crowd were eyeing her enviously.

“I never thought that after all that happened, Mr. Fuller would still want to be with Raine. What kind of luck does she have?”

“Yeah! Not only is Mr. Fuller loyal, but he’s generous, too. I’m so jealous!”

Wendy was equally envious. If she had a boyfriend like that, she’d have no regrets in life!

But Winter didn’t seem to care. Her eyes were fixed on the front. Suddenly, she saw Nancy raise her bidding paddle.
