Chapter 178 Nancy’s Drama Blowing Up

“This is hilarious! Hillary actually thinks she can go head-to-head with Natalie. Does she even stand

a chance?”

“I told you, didn’t I? Without Natalie, Hillary is nothing!”

“Natalie’s script will be a hit, no matter who stars in it. But can Hillary ever land another script this good? Obviously not!”

The result of this bet seemed clear to the netizens. Except for Hillary’s fans, hardly anyone thought

she had a chance to win.

But Hillary wasn’t anxious at all. There was still some time before the launch date.

After wrapping up her filming, she made plans to meet Nancy for a meal.

“Are you going back now?” Nancy asked reluctantly.

“Yeah. This one’s wrapped, and it’s time to start a new project. I’ve got to work hard!” Hillary said. ” You guys work so hard, so I can’t just slack off either.”

“No, you can,” Nancy said, looking at Hillary seriously.

Hillary smiled slightly, feeling warmth in her heart. She knew Nancy was serious, but she didn’t want to just coast through life either. “I want to keep working hard, to be your shield.”

“Alright, then. As long as you want to, I’ll support you.” Nancy smiled. Suddenly, she felt someone’s gaze from above. She instinctively looked up but saw nothing.

The restaurant had two levels, and one could see a nice view from the second floor.

Nancy and Hillary sat in a corner on the first floor. By right, they shouldn’t have been noticed. But by sheer bad luck, Natalie happened to be seated upstairs, with a perfect view of them. Her good mood soured instantly.

“What’s wrong, Natalie?” Winter noticed the change and looked over. Seeing the two, her expression turned slightly colder. “Well, talk about a small world.”

Natalie hummed in response. She finished her drink, and as the waiter came to refill her cup, she quietly enjoyed the attentive service, though her fingers subconsciously clenched.

Even though she was now a top-tier screenwriter and a sought-after figure in the entertainment industry, she couldn’t forget her painful past. Worse yet, Nancy and Hillary were witnesses to that

past.

“Don’t worry, your script is so outstanding. There’s no way Hillary will be able to beat you,” Winter said dismissively.

Absent-mindedly, she then scrolled through her social media feed and stumbled across a promo clip for Hillary’s drama. Curiosity got the better of her, so she clicked in to watch.

After watching, her dismissive gaze changed. She clicked into the comments section.

“Such a gripping plot… I’m already hooked! Can’t wait!”

“I’ve seen the promo for Natalie’s drama, and honestly, it doesn’t compare to Hillary’s! I’m curious who the screenwriter is.”

“I’m curious, too! I’m excited for the release!”

Almost all the comments were positive.

Natalie’s curiosity about the screenwriter grew. It was a new name, but from the trailer, this drama

didn’t seem bad at all.

She furrowed her brow. Even though she thought Hillary couldn’t surpass her, she still felt a little uneasy. She had to make absolutely sure that she succeeded!

Her gaze then fell on Hillary below.

After finishing their meal, Hillary and Nancy were about to part ways. Nancy was going to take Hillary to the airport, but Hillary received a call and told her, “I have something to take care of, Nancy. You head back first, and I’ll go to the airport myself.”

“Where are you going? Let me take you,” Nancy said.

“No, Nancy. You should head back first. It’s nothing serious,” Hillary said.

Nancy nodded, watched Hillary leave, then headed home herself. She checked her phone to find many missed calls. As expected, they were from the Lidells, but she wasn’t going to call any of them

back.

After her shower, she came out and saw her phone vibrating. It was a call from Gideon.

“Darling, are you not home?” His deep, magnetic voice came through.

“I’m at home,” she responded. Just as she finished speaking, she heard a knock at the door. She walked over and opened it.

Gideo stood there, his handsome, chiseled face wearing a slightly mischievous smile. He was dressed in a custom black suit, holding a bouquet of pink and blue roses. “Darling, have you just taken a shower?”

She suddenly realized she was still wrapped in a towel, and her bare shoulders were fully exposed.
