Chapter 174 We Belong to Another World

Fergus immediately grew excited, but instinctively glanced at Raine.

Raine’s worried face looked so pitiful, making him fall into deep thought. If he ended up with Yelena, what would happen to Raine?

Wait. Weren’t they just siblings?

His heart sank. Could it be that he felt something else for Raine? No, that was impossible. After all, they were just siblings!

He quickly replied to his best friend, “You’re overthinking. Yelena will be leaving tomorrow.”

He had to figure out how to win Yelena over before then.

On the third floor of the hotel, Nancy finished cutting the cake again. Her gaze drifted to the nearby

door.

She had told Gideon not to come out as their relationship was still not something that could be widely known. It wasn’t just because of her parents, but also because of the political situation in

Boraska.

“Ms. Moore, I’ve always thought you were outstanding. The Lidells are simply clueless!”

“Yeah, they’re so biased. There’s no way I’ll work with them again.”

“They’re just too foolish!”

Everyone started chiming in. Some of them actually meant what they said. They genuinely thought the Liddell family had been downright stupid.

At this point, everyone’s gaze toward Nancy was filled with admiration and respect. She had such a high-profile friend like Yelena, yet remained so inconspicuous. Her future was definitely promising.

“Ms. Moore, can we have your number?”

“Ms. Moore, if you take over the Lidell family in the future, I’ll come to you for a partnership.”

“Ms. Moore…”

A lot of people rushed to save her number, and she didn’t turn anyone down, knowing these

connections in Riversdale would be valuable in the future.

As the banquet continued, quite a few guests had even made up for the earlier spectacle by sending her extra gifts.

Soon, music began playing, and everyone chatted away while enjoying themselves.

Martha sat next to Nancy, lightly patting her hand with a tinge of guilt in her eyes.

Nancy smiled and said, “Grandma, I’m not upset. With you by my side, I feel really blessed.”

She was sincere, but Martha felt a bit uncomfortable hearing that. Nancy was too understanding.

Martha said, “You’ll definitely be the next person in charge of Lidell Group.”

Nancy didn’t care much about this.

Martha continued, “I know this doesn’t mean much to you, but consider it the last thing I leave you. Liddell Group is something solid to stand on. If you manage it well, it can pull in steady profits yearly. That way, you’ll have something of your own to rely on, and maybe life with the Moores will be a little easier.”

“Thank you, Grandma, but the results of the heir contest aren’t out yet,” Nancy said gently.

“Although it’s not out yet, Wendy can never beat you,” Martha said with certainty. She knew well enough that Wendy had her limitations.

Nancy just smiled without speaking.

The birthday banquet ended at 11:00 pm, and guests began leaving. Martha also went back to the hospital.

Finally, Gideon came out of his room and looked at Nancy with a resentful gaze. His voice was deep as he said, “Nancy, if you’re tired of living in the shadows like this, I can go back right now and ask to marry you. I’d even put half of the Fuller family’s fortune in your hands.”

“Wait,” Nancy said helplessly. “We can’t go public with this, not just because my parents can’t find out, but because the other families in Boraska can’t know either. If they know we’ve formed a

powerful alliance, what do you think they’ll do?”

Gideon understood, but….

He held Nancy’s soft hand and kissed it before saying firmly, “I understand. I’ll wait for you. One day, we’ll be able to stand before everyone openly.”

She shyly nodded, but suddenly felt the weight of several intense stares. She turned and saw Yelena, Skylar, and Hillary all staring at them with knowing looks.

Her face instantly turned red.

Hillary couldn’t help but laugh. Yelena also smiled and said softly, “I didn’t expect you to have such an adorable side, Nancy.”

Gideon wrapped his arm around Nancy’s waist. “Alright, enough staring. Mind your own business.”

“Sorry, Mr. Fuller, but we won’t be able to do as you wish. We’re staying at Nancy’s place tonight.” Yelena shrugged.

Gideon frowned slightly, but he understood. After all, Yelena didn’t visit often. He nodded. “I’ll drive you all back.”

Yelena and Nancy got into Gideon’s car. When Hillary was about to follow, Skylar grabbed her by the back of the collar. “You’re coming with me.”

“Why? I want to ride with everyone else.”

“They belong to one world, and we belong to another. Do you get it?” Skylar said.
