Nancy was still in a daze. “You… How did you…” 

“What’s wrong, darling?” Gideon gazed at her gently and lovingly. 

Nancy looked around and found that Hillary, Skylar, and Yelena were also here. They were all smiling at her. 

The banquet hall was bright and luxurious, with everything around her carefully and beautifully decorated. 

“You… You’ve been ignoring me these past few days. Was it all for this?” Nancy asked. 

Gideon nodded. “Yeah. I’m sorry for ignoring you, darling.” 

She felt a mix of emotions as she looked at the pile of gifts. “Why are there so many gifts?” 

“These are all for you, from when you were one year old until now,” Gideon said softly, his gaze never once leaving her. “I wasn’t there in your past, but I hope that I can be with you 

future.”

Her heart stirred, and her nose tingled with emotion. “Thank you,” she said, feeling touched. 

“You’re welcome,” Gideon replied, gently brushing her hair back. 

She looked at Yelena then. “Yelena, when did you arrive?” 

“I just got here. I’ll stay for two hours with you, then I’ll have to go to Rainville to sign a contract.” Yelena glanced at her phone. 

Hillary was already used to it. After all, being a strong, independent woman meant always being this 

busy. 

“Thank you,” Nancy said as she walked over and hugged Yelena. 

Yelena patted her shoulder. “I didn’t expect you to be with Gideon, but he’s a good man.” 

Yelena had a basic level of approval for Gideon after seeing what he had done for Nancy. 

“Yeah.” Nancy nodded. “Since you’re in a hurry, let’s quickly get something to eat.” 

However, Yelena pushed up her gold–rimmed glasses. “No, I don’t think eating is the most important thing right now. 

Nancy asked, “Why?” 

Yelena said, “I’ve come all the way here, so of course, I want to leave a special impression on the Lidell family.” 

Yelena explained her plan to Nancy. Nancy was helpless but still went along with her.

On the second floor, the guests were mingling with each other. 

The so–called birthday banquet was actually organized to promote business. 

Liddell Group was on a downward slope, so by right, Raine’s birthday banquet wouldn’t have attracted so many prominent people. 

But Regina had subtly hinted that Martha might pass down the position of heir to Raine. Plus, Fergus had accidentally mentioned Raine’s connection with Benny, so the turnout was exceptionally high. 

Guests were casually asking Regina about Raine’s relationship with Benny. 

Regina handled their questions with ease, knowing that leaving some mystery around their 

relationship would only make people more curious. 

Looking at the crowded room, she felt very satisfied. When she saw the wealthy ladies who had once looked down on her now trying to win her favor, she was practically floating with pride. 

Just then, a piece of news spread through the crowd. 

“I heard the banquet on the third floor is hosted by Ms. Hawthorne.” 

“Ms. Hawthorne? You mean the one from Boraska? What is she doing here?” 

“I’m not sure, but it definitely is her. I heard that she originally just wanted to hang out with her friends, but now, she’s interested in meeting the business owners from Riversdale. We should go over as well!” 

The news felt like a stroke of luck for everyone. The Hawthorne family was one of the most prestigious families in Boraska, and Yelena was one of the top power players there. Her ability to stand out among a group of male entrepreneurs spoke volumes about her talent. 

There was a good chance that she would inherit the Hawthorne family’s fortune. If they could get to know her, it would be a huge opportunity for the families in Riversdale. 

One by one, guests began to leave Regina’s side. 

The first wave of people went up to the third floor and confirmed that it really was Yelena, with Skylar also present. They were ecstatic, and word quickly spread to the second floor. Guests who had been hesitating now quickly made up their minds to leave. 

“Sorry, Mrs. Lidell. Something came up at home, so I need to leave.” 

“My son was in a car accident. I have to go check on him.” 

Regina watched as the guests trickled out, the once grand banquet hall growing emptier by the minute. The remaining few were too intimidated by the Lidell family’s power to leave. 

“Mom, what’s going on?” Fergus asked, trying to stop the leaving guests. When he failed, he grew
