Chapter 166 Surprising Her 

Nancy stared at Regina as she said, “So, are you and Raine planning to use this opportunity to pressure Grandma?” 

Her sharp gaze made Regina feel a little guilty, but Regina quickly retorted, “What do you mean by pressure? If Raine saves her, it’s only natural for her to give Raine the Lidell family’s inheritance rights.” 

Nancy smiled, her gaze full of undisguised sarcasm. 

Regina’s chest tightened. She wanted to argue, but Nancy had already turned and walked toward the elevator. “Stop right there! That elevator only goes to the third floor and above, not the second!” 

Nancy ignored her and took the elevator to leave. 

Regina frowned. What was going on? 

Was Nancy really not here for the birthday banquet? 

After greeting the guests, Fergus asked Regina, “Mom, why did she leave? We can’t just let her sneak in.” 

“She said she’s not going to the second floor,” Regina replied. 

“How could that be? She’s just spewing nonsense!” Fergus didn’t believe her at all. “Besides Raine’s birthday banquet today, the only other event is the banquet on the third floor. 

“I heard it’s being hosted by a big shot. She definitely wasn’t invited. If she’s not trying to barge in on Raine’s birthday banquet, I’ll do a handstand! Just wait. She’ll definitely come begging us soon. 

Regina nodded, agreeing with him. Thus, they continued to entertain the guests. 

Backstage, Raine heard about Nancy’s visit. 

Wendy said, “Raine, Aunt Regina stopped her.” 

Raine sighed, looking sorry for Nancy. “Mom really doesn’t get it. No matter what, Nancy is still my sister.” 

“Is someone like that even worthy of being your sister?” Wendy sneered, looking at Raine with envious eyes. “Raine, I really envy you. All the big shots from Riversdale are here today.” 

Only Raine could have such treatment. She didn’t know when she would be able to share the spotlight with Raine, to be the center of attention. 

Raine smiled faintly. “By the way, how’s everything with him?” 

“Not bad, Raine. Thanks to your idea, everyone’s speculating that Hillary and Hanson are together

“You’re still young. Don’t hesitate to ask me if you have any questions.” 

“Sure.” Wendy saw a message on her phone and said to Raine, “You go ahead and keep getting ready. I’ll head out for a bit.” 

“Go ahead.” 

Wendy went to the door and saw a man wearing a mask. They both walked to a secluded corner, where she immediately embraced him. “Darling, you’re here. After seeing the rumors about you and Hillary, I was worried you might really like her.” 

“Silly, you’re the one I like. If it weren’t to protect you, why would I even talk to Hillary? No one, not even ten of her, could matter as much as you do to me!” Hanson said gently. 

A glint of light flashed in Wendy’s eyes. “Darling, I love you the most. 

Nancy arrived on the third floor and immediately noticed that it was completely dark. There was only a light shining in the distance, and she walked toward it. As she approached the light, another set of lights lit up. 

Under the lights, a tall man stood with strikingly handsome features that immediately drew attention. His presence was commanding, radiating an air of class and sophistication. In his hands, he held a bouquet of blue roses. 

It was Gideon. At that moment, he looked like a prince who had descended from Heaven. 

Nancy was momentarily stunned as she watched Gideon walk toward her. As they got closer, the 

lights suddenly brightened, and she saw that both sides were filled with gift boxes. 

“Nancy, happy birthday!” Gideon said, presenting her with the blue roses.
