Nancy answered the call, and as expected, Raine’s voice came through, full of amusement. “Nancy, did you see the news online? Are you jealous?” 

“Jealous of what?” 

“Clearly, you’re the one biological daughter, but they only dote on me. You must be feeling pretty jealous right now, huh?” Raine said smugly. 

“Nancy, just come back and admit your mistake. Mom said that if you apologize, they’ll tell everyone we’re twins.” 

“Do you think you deserve that?” Nancy chuckled lightly.

There was a brief silence on the other end of the line before Raine’s voice turned cold. “Nancy, don’t be so shameless. You should know what’s good for you!”

Raine was unconvinced. “Only the ones who aren’t loved are outsiders. So what if you’re their biological daughter? The one they love is me! If you had any sense, you’d disappear immediately.” 

“Very well. But I’m not sure if the netizens will think the same. How about we ask them?” Nancy said. 

“You… What are you trying to do?” Raine suddenly panicked. “Nancy, don’t do anything stupid! Everything I just said was forced out of me!” 

The more she spoke, the more frantic she became, and she hastily hung up the phone. 

Nancy found it laughable and frustrating. Was this stupid and childish woman worthy of being her opponent?

Just as Nancy was about to send him a message to clarify things, she received one from him. “Come to the third floor of Starlight Hotel tonight. I need to talk to you.” 

She was momentarily stunned. Could it be that he had the same thoughts as her? 

Perhaps, tonight would be their last night together. 

She tried to ignore the pain deep inside. 

At 6:00 pm, she arrived at Starlight Hotel. The parking lot was filled with luxury cars, most of which belonged to the guests attending Raine’s birthday banquet. 

She walked into the lobby and was about to head for the third floor when someone stopped her at the 

stairwell. 

“Nancy, how dare you show up here?” Fergus and Regina were welcoming guests. Upon seeing Nancy, their faces immediately filled with disdain. 

Regina’s eyes were filled with contempt. 

See? Nancy had acted so indifferent before, but in reality, she cared deeply. 

Regina pulled her aside. “Nancy, even if you’re here to admit your mistake now, we will never acknowledge you. We’ll tell everyone you’re our adopted daughter.”
