The director admitted that Natalie’s script was great, but the revised version seemed to lack a certain depth. As a director, he knew the actors were the true soul of any show.

With Natalie so sure of her revisions, could their drama still become a major hit?

Meanwhile, Hillary and Nancy climbed into the car, their earlier gloom instantly lifting.

“Damn, that felt amazing. I should’ve left that crew a long time ago!” Hillary said, clearly thrilled.

“Has she been treating you like this for a while?” Nancy asked, concerned.

“A little, but I never paid her much attention. Filming was what mattered most. Tonight was the first time she really went all out,” Hillary recounted, a cold look in her eyes. “What pisses me off the most is how she completely butchered the script you helped her revise.”

Nancy gazed out the window, her expression thoughtful.

Hillary continued, “Honestly, she only got where she is today because of the script you polished and my performance in it. Natalie probably thinks it’s all thanks to her.”

“I’m sorry you had to deal with that,” Nancy said gently, pulling out a beautiful box. “Don’t worry about the script. I saved a dress from the new collection just for you. Let’s go to your place so you can try it on.”

“Really? I love you, babe!” Hillary exclaimed, hugging Nancy, her excitement bubbling over.

They reached Hillary’s building soon enough. She stayed in a roomy apartment unit with sweeping views. Of the city

The moment she stepped inside, Hillary eagerly opened the box and lifted the dress. Under the lights, the white gown shimmered with a delicate, ethereal glow.

“It’s so beautiful!” she exclaimed, her excitement giving way to a hint of doubt. “But… maybe it’s not really my style?”

“It’ll be perfect for you. Just go ahead and try it on,” Nancy encouraged.

Hillary stepped into the bedroom and emerged in the dress, staring at her reflection in the full -length mirror, her face a mask of disbelief.

She had always favored a more seductive, daring style, so this was the first time she had ever worn a soft, white gown. The strapless design clung perfectly to her curves, while the cinched

waist emphasized her figure.

The fabric was light yet luxurious, with a subtle shimmer that made her look like an enchanting fairy who had just descended from the sky.

“It’s breathtaking!” Hillary gasped, covering her mouth in shock.

Nancy smiled, clearly pleased. “I knew it. That dress was made for you.”

Unable to contain her excitement, Hillary spun around, a radiant grin spreading across her

face.

The front door swung open at this exact moment, and a man appeared in the doorway, taking

in the scene before him.

Hillary’s smile, radiant as an angel’s, immediately caught his attention. Skylar watched her quietly.

“Skylar?”

Hillary had been so absorbed in admiring the dress that she didn’t notice him until Nancy spoke. Her eyes widened as she glanced toward the door. “How did you get in?”

“The door was unlocked,” Skylar said with a teasing smile.

Hillary was momentarily speechless. She’d been so excited that she’d completely forgotten to

close it behind them.

“No, hold on. Even if I did leave the door open, does that give you the right to just barge in?” Hillary’s displeasure was unmistakable.

Skylar slipped one hand into the pocket of his black trousers, his tailored red shirt accentuating the mischievous, flamboyant charm he radiated. He leaned against the doorframe, a faint smirk playing on his lips.

“We’ve done a lot more than just that. And you’re still worried about something like this?”

“What?” Nancy asked, bewildered.

Hillary’s expression darkened, her glare sharp enough to make it seem like she wanted to kill Skylar where he stood.

“It’s nothing. He just… has no manners and barges into my room anytime he pleases at the Gibson residence!” she said, forcing an excuse, utterly frustrated.

“So? What do you want?”

“What’s wrong? Can’t I come to your house?” Skylar replied. “I haven’t eaten yet.

“And what does your hunger have to do with me?” Hillary scoffed.

“Oh? But we’ve already-”

“Fine, fine. I’ll buy you dinner. Just wait a minute!” Hillary cut him off immediately, her mind screaming with the urge to strangle him.

She quickly changed her clothes and returned, taking Nancy’s hand. “Nancy, you haven’t eaten either, have you? Come on. Let’s go eat together!”

“Okay.” Nancy nodded, noticing Skylar glancing at his phone. The profile picture on the other end of the message looked strangely familiar.

Skylar quickly put his phone away. “Let’s go. Where are we headed?”

Hillary replied, “Just follow me.’

The three went downstairs. It was late, and the streets were starting to empty. Hillary led them around a few corners and stopped behind a street-side barbecue stand, taking a seat. ” Here! What do you guys feel like eating?”

Skylar sat down, taking in the surroundings.

Hillary, noticing his hesitation, teased, “Oh, Mr. Gibson, don’t tell me you’re not familiar with such a setting. I suppose not. Someone as fancy as you probably isn’t used to this. If it’s too much, you can always go eat at a fancy hotel instead!”
