I shut my eyes in disgust:
“You’re utterly shameless!
Put some clothes on first!
My eyes are getting infected!”
Sophie tremblingly picked clothes off the floor and pulled them on, grabbing Mark’s arm:
“Mark, what do we do now?
If Flynn finds out, we’re both dead.”
Mark regained his composure, standing to face me:
“Honey, please forgive me.
It was a moment of weakness, she seduced me.
I just made the mistake any man could make.
Don’t tell Flynn, he’ll kill me.”
Sophie yanked his arm in disbelief:
“Mark, you coward!
You’re saying I seduced you?
When my skin hunger flared up, you crawled into my bed saying my moans turned you on–you se- duced me!”
The cheating pair kept trading accusations, their argument escalating.
Their shouting gave me a headache:
“Shut up, both of you!
You’re equally disgusting!

You deserve public shaming.”
Mark knelt before me with fake sincerity:
“Honey, I was wrong.
What will it take for your forgiveness?”
I know he’s afraid I’ll tell Flynn, that Flynn would make him pay dearly, not that he’s genuinely re- morseful.
“I’m done with sweet talk, it’s all lies.
Let’s get practical. Give me 50 million dollars for emotional damages and 20% stake, then I’ll forgive you. I know what you’re afraid of.”
Mark blew up at this:
“Are you crazy? That’s demanding too much!”
“Twenty million cash plus twenty percent shares–do you have any idea how much that is?”
I ignored him, admiring my freshly done nails:
“Mr. Johnston, must I teach you that money
solves problems?
Blame yourself for failing to keep it in your pants.”
Sophie nudged Mark beside her:
“Just agree already!”
I shot her a dismissive glance:
“His mess, your price.”
Sophie froze:
“I’ve got no cash or shares. What could I possibly give you?”
I smirked:
“First kneel and apologize. Then slap yourself a hundred times. Maybe then I’ll consider what to take from you.”

Her face flushed crimson:
“In your dreams!
I’ll never kneel to you.
Don’t flatter yourself!
Mark told me in bed–I’m far better than you ever were!”
I laughed like it was the world’s greatest joke:
“Mark’s nothing but trash to me now. Why would I care what trash thinks?
So you’re better?
You’ll still kneel and beg.”
Sophie stood rigid, a proud swan.
I took out my phone and was about to call Flynn.
Sophie knelt before me with a thud, slapping herself with both hands while calling herself a slut who’d wronged me.
The resentment I’d bottled up for so long finally eased a bit.
“Mark, I’m moving out starting today.
I find this villa disgusting, reeking of your filthy presence everywhere.
Transfer the money and shares immediately. My patience ran out long ago.”
I packed my bags while Mark stood nearby, not daring to stop me.
“Mark, I once thought marrying you was my blessing. I take it back now – marrying you was my damn
curse!
You’ve got ten days. After that, I’m done waiting.”
