Chapter 8

Meanwhile, I had no idea what was going on back at Jeremy’s pack. Hayden and I were sitting at the bridal shop, feeling dizzy after looking at the endless rows of gowns.

After trying more than a dozen gowns, I collapsed onto the chair and wrapped my hand around his waist.” We’ve already tried on so many of them. Yet, you didn’t like a single one of them. Are you playing me for a

fool?”

Hayden caressed my hair. “Shirley, I still feel like I’m dreaming. I can barely believe you’re my mate.”

I looked at him in confusion. “Why so? We had already held the ceremony before the Moon Goddess and

received her approval. Do you feel insecure?”

Hayden pressed a kiss to my forehead and shook his head. “It’s not that I doubt you, but I’m just not confident enough. I’m afraid I’m not worthy of you, or that you’ll find me lacking.”

I stared at him and found that his gaze was full of reverence and love. My heartbeat quickened, and my

face felt warm.

I gave him a light smack. “Who do you learn from to sweet-talk like that?”

He clutched my hand and placed it over his chest. “Shirley, choose a gown you like the most for my sake.

I want you to become the most beautiful bride.”

I glared at him before going back to the fitting room.

Deep down, I was just as eager to become his Luna, making sure I looked flawless for the moment. After

a few more gowns, I stepped out again and caught him looking at me in awe.

Hayden paused for a moment before coming over to give me a hug and kiss. “I have no regrets in my life

now that I have you.”

When I smiled and kissed him back, I caught a glimpse of Jeremy outside the store and froze.

Jeremy stormed inside, grabbed Hayden’s arm, and tried to throw a punch. “Let go of her! Who do you think you are? Shirley is mine!”

In the blink of an eye, the two were already fighting a distance away from him. However, the two of them became so worked up that they started shifting into their wolves.

If I allowed this to continue, the entire shop might be destroyed. I rushed to stop them, but neither listened.

After pondering for a moment, I let out a sharp cry.

This caused Hayden to pause. After he landed a heavy blow on Jeremy, he rushed up to me. “Shirley, what’s wrong?”

I grabbed him and stood before him. “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”

When Jeremy was about to come over, I glared at him. “Stand there and don’t move. Otherwise, I can’t promise that I can hold Hayden back.”

Jeremy’s face twisted with frustration. “How could you take his side? What am I to you? I don’t care if you go against me, and I’m willing to give up on the pup. All I want is you. Can we start over?”

“Let’s go to the Moon Goddess and complete the ceremony. I promise that nothing will go wrong again.”

I sneered. “Too late. Why is it so hard to believe that I’m already Hayden’s Luna? We were already over when you abandoned me during the ceremony.”

Jeremy stumbled back and almost lost his balance. “Shirley, how could you find yourself another wolf just because I left you that day? What about all these years we had together? I even rejected my fated mate for you. What do I mean to you?”

I smirked. “You allowed Rebecca, who’s pregnant with your pup, to move into our marital home and

ordered me to take care of the pup. What do you take me for?

“Let’s switch the roles. If I were pregnant with another wolf’s pup and expected you to be the father,

would you accept that?”

Immediately, Jeremy’s face went pale.
