Lilian soon appeared by Jessica’s side. 

“These people must have already played out a hundred fantasies in their heads about where they would sleep with him.” 

Jessica could not hold back a laugh. 

“Look at them. Seriously, what a lineup. All of them are hunks,” Lillian added as she zoomed in on the photo and studied it from every angle. 

Jessica opened the photo on her phone, meaning to save it–only to notice two familiar profiles. 

It was Matthew and Mickey! 

They knew Zachary? 

It was no wonder that the game the other day felt so off. It all made sense now. 

Jessica’s heart skipped a beat, a guilty flutter rising in her chest as though she had just been caught red–handed. 

She sent the photo to Zachary. “Pretty handsome.” 

But before the picture had even finished sending, her message was already marked as read. 

“On bed or off it?” he replied. 

He really had some nerve. 

Jessica immediately locked her screen. 

What had gotten into him lately? Did he have too much built–up testosterone? 

She decided not to reply. 

Later in the day, Lillian, who was already drowning in work, leaned over to whisper to Jessica, “Hey, did you notice? Ms. Sutton has been running upstairs all morning. Have you no sense of crisis at all?” 

“I have a sense of shame,” Jessica retorted as she shot her a look. “If he wanted to eat from the same bowl twice, he would have done it long ago.” 

“You’re not worried he might not be able to resist?”

“I’m only worried the scissors on my nightstand aren’t sharp enough.” 

“Damn, you’re ruthless!” Lillian gave her a big thumbs up. 

Jessica pursed her lips and reached for her phone again. She stared blankly at Zachary’s profile 

picture. 

Had he once said the same sweet nothings to Evelyn, too? 

A shiver ran through her. 

Not long after, Evelyn walked out of the elevator, her face practically glowing. 

“Ms. Sutton, what’s got you so happy?” A colleague who had just come out of the pantry walked up, joining Evelyn as they walked toward the office together. 

“Having dinner with Mr. Jones and the others tonight,” she said proudly. 

“Wow, no way! You and Mr. Jones…” 

“Of course not. Don’t spout nonsense.” 

Her voice was coy, and the little flick of her glossy hair could not hide the satisfied smile on her lips. Her heels clicked even louder as she strutted into the office. 

“Mr. Jones‘ love life is on fire. Yesterday it was Ms. York, and today it’s Ms. Sutton.” 

“Who knows which one matters more? The new flame or the old love.” 

“He’s been wearing a wedding ring for months. He’s definitely married.” 

“In that case, he really doesn’t seem to know what boundaries are.” 

Jessica had to listen to their gossip all day long until her ears felt numb. She finally put on her headphones and went to the design showroom to carve out some peace. 

Jessica spent the entire day holed up in that room. 

By the time she got home, her whole body ached with exhaustion. She immediately flopped onto the living room couch. 

Then, amidst the quiet, she heard a faint, unfamiliar set of footsteps upstairs. 

Slowly, she sat up. 

She thought it was Zachary, but instead, a young woman appeared standing right in the

middle of the spiral staircase. 

Their eyes met. Both froze. 

That was when Jessica noticed a pink suitcase sitting in the living room. 

“So you’re the mistress Zach is keeping?” Shock flickered in the woman’s eyes, followed quickly by disdain. 

Jessica’s face was stunning, so much so that even the woman seemed momentarily taken 

aback. 

Why was this woman willing to be some man’s hidden lover?

Jessica flashed an awkward smile. There must be rumors from that cocktail party spreading 

around. 

She then stretched, weary and disinterested. 

If this woman could walk straight into the apartment without the guards or the housekeeper stopping her, her connection to Zachary was definitely not shallow. 

It did not seem like just another random fling. 

The woman looked to be in her early 20s, about the same age as Jessica, though Jessica’s 

demeanor was calmer and more mature. 

When Jessica did not answer right away, the woman grew impatient. 

“I asked you a question!”
