At that moment, Zachary had already been taken into a side room by Sasha’s mother to talk.Â
“Jessica,” Sasha called.Â
Dazed from the alcohol she’d consumed, Jessica looked up at Sasha as the latter approached.Â
“Sasha,” Jessica murmured.Â
“Why are you sitting here drinking by yourself?” Sasha asked, narrowing her eyes.Â
Jessica pursed her lips, her expression making her contempt plain for all to see.Â
“Waiting for him,” Jessica replied coldly.Â
Sasha sank into a chair, where a plate of steak and two sets of cutlery sat abandoned, feelingÂ
oddly uncomfortable.Â
“Zach is talking things over with my mother,” she explained.Â
“I see,” Jessica said lightly, taking a casual sip of wine.Â
“You’re very pretty, Jessica,” Sasha suddenly said.Â
“Thank you,” Jessica replied without looking at her.Â
Jessica’s coldness nearly drove Sasha mad.Â
“I hope you’ll be sensible,” Sasha warned.Â
“In what way?” Jessica asked innocently, tilting her head to the side.Â
Jessica set her glass down, refilled her own, and topped off Sasha’s as well.Â
“How much do you want?” Sasha got straight to the point.Â
“How much do you think Zachary’s worth? Millions? Tens of millions?” Jessica countered.Â
Sasha fell silent at that. She hadn’t expected that hidden behind Jessica’s pretty appearance was a mouth sharp enough to cut. Jessica wasn’t like the other women whom the men of high society usually kept.Â
Jessica finished her glass of wine in one gulp, then slowly licked her lips with a heat that made Sasha feel something akin to unease and fascination.Â
If Sasha were a man, she might just be tempted by a woman like that.Â

“It was Zachary who kneeled and begged me to be with him,” Jessica said almost casually.Â
Jessica’s words left Sasha stunned. She couldn’t believe that someone as aloof as Zachary would actually kneel and beg.Â
That day, when Zachary asked Jessica if she would be with him, he had humbly dropped to one knee on the couch, pleading just to be with her.Â
“I can easily make 20 thousand dollars a month. How long would your money even keep me afloat?” Jessica said sharply.Â
Sasha’s last shred of reason made her pause.Â
“Sasha, if you want to win Zachary over, don’t rely on your parents or money. You need something about you that makes him obsessed.Â
“Make him stand in front of me and tell me to leave, and I’ll disappear without a trace. If he refuses, though, I’ll cling to him for the rest of his life,” Jessica said, leaning back slightly.Â
“And you? What do you have that he likes?” Sasha asked, suddenly realizing that JessicaÂ
wasn’t someone to underestimate.Â
Jessica seemed almost unaware of what Zachary liked about her. It was as if they had only slept together once, yet that was enough for him to be addicted.Â
“He likes it when I call him ‘honey‘ in bed,” Jessica said after a brief silence.Â
She propped her chin on one hand, leaning back in the chair with a coquettish tilt. Even after saying it, she flushed slightly.Â
Sasha’s face burned as she quickly rose to her feet. She was raised to be a proper, reserved woman, and she couldn’t stand hearing such bold provocations.Â
“You really are a professional whore,” she spat.Â
“Flattered,” Jessica replied smoothly.Â
“How could Zachary ever fall for someone like you?” Sasha snapped.Â
“Couldn’t help it. He just did,” Jessica said casually.Â
“If it’s money you want, I can introduce you to other rich young men,” Sasha offered.Â
“That’s all well and good, but rich young men are easy to come by. A great body, though? That’s much rarer today,” Jessica said with a sly smile.Â
“You really are shameless…”Â

Sasha stormed out, seething with fury.Â
Fortunately, the living room was empty. Otherwise, Jessica wouldn’t have dared to speak to her so provocatively.Â
Finally, the troublesome thorn in her life seemed to be taken care of. Jessica let out a quiet sigh in relief, glad to have a moment of peace.Â
She poured herself another glass of red wine and swirled it gently. She ate another slice of steak, then sipped her wine. It was truly a blissful moment.Â
Unbeknownst to them, Zachary had been leaning against the doorframe outside, listening to everything. A wicked smile tugged at his lips.Â
Just as Sasha stepped out, she caught sight of him and instantly turned bright red.Â
“Zach…” she stammered.Â
“Yeah,” he replied softly.Â
“You-”Â
“She’s right about everything,” he said calmly.Â
