“Call the police.” Nathaniel shielded Isabella behind him, wearing a stern expression.
The investigation results came quickly. Turned out, the man had been hired by Alexander.
Alexander confessed without hesitation and even offered to pay compensation.
But the wedding dress was already ruined.
Alexander looked at her with a smug smile. “Isabella, aren’t you getting married to someone else?
For every dress you try on, I’ll destroy one. I have money; I’m not afraid to pay for it. But you’ll never wear the perfect gown.”
Isabella slapped him hard.
“Alexander, you keep shocking me. You’re shameless beyond belief!”
Fortunately, Nathaniel had already commissioned a custom–made dress for her, nearly finished.
Isabella went to the underground garage to get something that evening, but Alexander cornered
her.
“Isabella, I want to show you something. Once you see it, you’ll forgive me.
He handed her a video.
The moment it played, a piercing female voice screamed through the garage.
“Don’t come over… ah! Don’t come! I beg you… please spare me…”
Ivy sobbed, accompanied by the men’s cruel laughter. Isabella felt sick to her stomach. “Why are you showing me this?”
Alexander’s tone turned coaxing. “You’ve always been upset about me and Ivy, right? Look, I’ve taken care of it for you. I had a few people sleep with Ivy. Can’t you stop being mad at me now?”
Isabella stared at him as if she’d seen a ghost.
Was this even humanly possible?
Was Alexander a monster?
She darted off, her frantic cries barely audible, cutting straight to his heart.
“Alexander, stop pestering me! I’m begging you, I really don’t want to be with you! I hate you! I feel sick just thinking about you!”

“Stop using me as an excuse to hurt others! I don’t care about you and Ivy! Don’t drag me into
your sins!”
She ran so fast as if a beast were chasing her.
Alexander froze, his heart breaking in agony.
To avoid more trouble, Nathaniel and Isabella decided to move the wedding up.
The grand banquet was filled with guests.
Isabella appeared in a top–tier custom wedding gown, breathtakingly beautiful.
Nathaniel held her hand, going table to table to toast, while everyone praised them as a perfect
couple.
“I heard Mr. Carter and Mrs. Carter were childhood sweethearts. They were childhood betrothed.
My goodness. Truly made for each other!”
“Exactly! Mr. Carter loves her so much. Even the wedding dress is designed by a top overseas
designer. Look at that diamond ring! He outbid everyone to win it at auction!”
Some voices were less approving. “I heard Mrs. Carter was married before. Isn’t Mr. Carter just taking over?”
Nathaniel’s face instantly darkened at those words.
He pulled an awkward–looking Isabella closer and spoke loudly and clearly, “Thank you all for
being here today to celebrate our wedding. There are some things I’d like to clear up with
everyone.”
He glanced at the girl beside him, his gaze soft and lingering. “Years ago, Isabella lost her memory in a car accident. We were separated for several years. During that time, I searched for her tirelessly, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find her until now.”
“I failed her by not finding her sooner, letting her suffer all these years. Now she’s finally back by
my side and become my wife. I will protect and cherish her for life.”
“Isabella, I love you. Will you marry me?”
He knelt on one knee. Thunderous applause erupted.
“We misunderstood. The couple is perfect together! Wishing you happiness forever!”
Amid the chorus of admiration, Isabella’s eyes welled up with tears.

She took his hand. “I do-”
“Isabella!”
A breathless male voice interrupted and the door burst open. Alexander stormed in, halting the
ceremony.
He looked urgently at Isabella. “Isabella, don’t marry him!”
She frowned, about to speak, but he turned to the guests and said, “Everyone, I have something to clarify–Isabella is my legal wife. We have never divorced!”
“I fell in love with Isabella at first sight, and we married smoothly. We’ve been devoted to each
other all these years, but Nathaniel cruelly stole her from me! Today, I’m here to expose him!”
The crowd gasped.
What! Isabella hadn’t divorced? How could she marry Mr. Carter then?
It was deceit! Concealment! Two–timing!
Scornful
eyes turned toward Isabella.
Even Nathaniel looked slightly stunned, clearly in disbelief.
Isabella clenched her fists tightly, pulling out pre–prepared documents and slammed them into
Alexander’s face.
“Legal wife?”
“Never divorced?”
“Alexander, I have to ask whose name was actually on the marriage certificate we got back then?”
