Chapter 1 

Just because I warned my twin sister that David Carter had a fixation on virgins and advised her to be more discreet in her private life, my husband Edward force–fed me the strongest aphrodisiac and threw me onto David’s bed to fulfill her wedding night duty. 

Later, when I desperately sought answers from him, I stumbled upon the sight of him–usually so sexually aloof- gripping my sister’s waist and thrusting wildly. 

Lost in passion, my sister whimpered tearfully, “Honey, Donna can handle David for me tonight, but how am I sup- posed to deal with the Carter family in the future? They’ve been waiting for me to conceive. After three years with you, my body can no longer carry a child…” 

Edward kissed away her tears tenderly. “Don’t cry, Samantha. Since your sister can stand in for your wedding night, she can certainly bear the child for you. Don’t be afraid–I’m here.” 

The next second, I received Edward’s text: 

“Donna, stay at Cater Manor for now. Once you’ve successfully borne a child for David, I’ll come for you. 

Then, we’ll live properly together.” 

At that moment, my love drained away. 

I stood at the master bedroom door, watching them entwined on my marital bed. 

Clutching my phone until my knuckles whitened, I covered my mouth to stifle the urge to vomit. 

Samantha seemed to sense my presence. Glancing toward the door, she bit her lip and feigned innocence: 

“But Edward, what if my sister Donna refuses? 

She loves you so much–how could she bear another man’s child?” 

“You endured three years without touching her for my sake, even gifting her wedding night to my husband in name. Don’t you regret it? Aren’t you jealous?” 

Edward released a satisfied groan, his movements growing fiercer as his voice hardened. 

“Silly girl, as you said–Donna loves me desperately. That devotion is precisely how I’ll put her to use. 

Besides, she has nothing left but me as her husband and you as her twin. She’ll compromise for love.” He kissed Samantha, his muffled yet crystal–clear words piercing my heart:

“I’ll compensate her later, Samantha… but she hasn’t camed enough of my love to make me jealous.” 

I could no longer contain myself, fleeing madly into the storm. 

Collapsing in the downpour, I wailed and retched until my throat burned. 

The world believed Edward adored me–that he abandoned original life to marry me. 

None knew that throughout three years of marriage, no matter how I seduced him in every seductive pose, he never spared me a glance. 

Yesterday marked my 999th failed attempt. Swallowing my last shred of dignity, I drugged him. 

When he finally pulled me close, flames of desire in his eyes, I thought he’d yield–until he rasped: 

“Donna, you know Samantha isn’t… untouched. Help her.” 

As I stared in disbelief, he continued, “You’re still a virgin. Sleep with David for Samantha, won’t you?” 

I refused instantly, tearing at his clothes while the drug raged within him. 

Yet he’d rather press the fruit knife to his own skin than touch me. 

Heartbroken, I turned to leave when he forced more potent medicine down my throat. 

He personally dressed me in the seductive costume I’d carefully prepared for him. 

Something inside me shattered piece by piece in that moment. I begged through tears, “Don’t be so cruel to me. 

But without a word, he knocked me unconscious. 

Then he carried me to the bed of David Carter, who had just returned from a three–year overseas assignment. 

I clutched my head, refusing to relive last night’s nightmare. 

How could four years of devotion lead to this? 

Before marrying Edward, he’d indeed dated Samantha. 

Rumors said they parted due to incompatibility. 

Later, when our parents presented gilded traditional marriage contracts letting us choose spouses, Samantha instantly picked David–scion of a political dynasty. 

She’d scoffed at me then: 

“My dear sister, I’ll become the admired official’s wife someday. That blockhead ex of mine? He’s all yours.”
