Chapter 61
When Jaxson lay down beside me, I stiffened for a moment.
His breath lingered near my car.
He stood too close.
Jaxson noticed the flutter of my eyelashes, lay down in silence, and turned off the light.
From beginning to end, I was never exposed.
I fell asleep at some point and woke up with my head resting on his arm.
Such a situation had never occurred before.
I lost focus for a moment.
Jackson was out cold–like, really out.
For the first time since I’d known him, the guy actually looked… vulnerable.
His big–ass frame was turned toward me, the curtain tugged aside just enough to let in this pale, ghostly light.
For a second, his edges were sharp, then blurred–like my eyes couldn’t decide if he was real or some kinda illusion.

Jaxson looked at the closed door, lost in thought.
After I finished washing up, I was about to go to the wardrobe, but when I pushed the door saw Jaxson standing in my closet area.
The shelves, which had been filled with a variety of items, were now noticeably empty.
Jaxson turned to look at me, with a hint of curiosity in his eyes. “Where are your things?”
“Threw them away,” I said without changing my expression.

with them, right?”
I had taken away everything I packed, all of which were my own belongings.
Items belonging to the Hamilton family remained untouched in the cabinet.
Jaxson glanced at the left cabinet, where the jewelry and designer bags were still there.
Without much thought, he said, “It’s up to you.”
Jaxson took a dark–colored tie and walked out of the dressing room.
I leaned back against the cabinet, letting out a sigh of relief.
*Even if you knew. You don’t mind, do you?*
