Suddenly, Jericho freed one hand and gripped her chin, abruptly leaning down.
Romina instinctively turned her face to the side.
Jericho’s kiss landed on her cheek.
“Are you avoiding me?”
The man’s brows furrowed uncontrollably, a trace of disbelief flickering in his eyes.
“If you’re so desperate, go to the guest room and find your unforgettable love. She’ll surely serve you well. Forgive me for not accompanying you.”
She quickly pushed the man away and sat up on the bed.
“Since I’m so desperate, isn’t it only natural for you, as my wife, to take care of it for me?”
Jericho grabbed her wrist and swiftly pulled her closer.
His hand slid down to her waist.
The atmosphere in the room instantly turned ambiguous.
But Romina replied unhurriedly, “Unforgettable love and wife, doesn’t that disgust you?”
“Watch your mouth.”
“Cleaner than you.” Romina shot him a glare and pushed him away again. “She’s right there in the guest room. No need to sneak out in the middle of the night like last time to find her. Such a good opportuni- ty, and you won’t take it?”
“Romina, I’m your husband! And you’re pushing me away?”
“In my heart, you stopped being my husband long ago. And whatever is going on between you and Na- dine, don’t drag me into it.” Romina looked down at the man before her. “I find it filthy!”

Romina’s tone was icy to the extreme: “Get out.”
With a low growl, Jericho quickly got up, his cold eyes staring straight at her.
He grabbed her by the neck, pulling her close in an instant. “Remember, you’re the one who pushed me away. Don’t blame me.”

Romina suddenly let out a low, hoarse laugh.
Scenes from three years ago flashed before her eyes once again.
He had been shielding and favoring that woman for more than just a day or two, yet for his own selfish reasons, he came up with such a ridiculous excuse.
He even claimed it was she who pushed him toward Nadine.
Before the man left, Romina sneered, “Remember not to act out in front of my son. If you cause him any psychological harm, I won’t let you off.”
Jericho’s steps suddenly halted. He turned to glare at her, his tone icy cold: “In your heart, am I really that much of a beast?”
“As long as you know it yourself.”
Romina ignored him and walked straight toward the balcony.

The loud sound of the door slamming echoed through every corner,
At the very instant the door slammed, Romina’s steps came to an abrupt halt.
Her eyes suddenly closed tightly.
She stood there for quite a while before gradually regaining her composure.
Then, she once again walked toward the balcony.
Out of the corner of her eye, she inadvertently caught sight of a familiar figure on the neighboring bal-

Joaquin was leaning on the glass railing with both hands, the sleeves of his white shirt slightly rolled up, revealing strong arms. His back was slightly bent as he turned to look at her.
His balcony lights were off, but by the light from her side, she could see his face was slightly flushed.
He must have been drinking, but not to the point of being completely drunk.

She wasn’t sure if it was from the cold or from nerves.
That single shiver left her even more flustered.
Romina hurriedly said, “Mr. Bowman, you’re drunk. You should get some rest!”
But the man ignored her, his smile fading as he asked seriously, “Did he go to her?”
At those words, the mocking smile on Romina’s lips grew even more pronounced.
