Romina turned back around and suddenly let out a cold laugh. “Now I finally understand why you and Joaquin ended up together. You really are two of a kind.”

As her voice fell, Nadine’s expression darkened.

Valery snapped, “Romina, what nonsense are you spouting? If you can’t speak properly, then don’t speak at all!”

“Jericho also thinks I took his three million, but that money was clearly earned by selling my own lion statues. The two of you say exactly the same thing–only people who are cut from the same cloth could come up with such similar words.”

Nadine was rendered speechless in an instant.

Those lion statues had indeed been bought from her by Jericho.

There was no doubt about that.

Valery couldn’t stand seeing Nadine being bullied and stepped forward to retort, “With your second–rate medical skills, your clinic will probably go out of business in a few days. That three million will last you maybe two months at best! Just wait until you don’t have a single patient left–then you’ll really be embarrassed.”

“Don’t worry, even with my so–called mediocre skills, it’s more than enough to treat patients like you with brain problems.”

“You…”

Valery was so angry that her chest heaved up and down.

“If you can’t get better elsewhere, you can always come to me. Once our wellness clinic opens, you’re welcome to visit anytime.”

Romina pulled out a business card and stuffed it directly into her palm, then strode away.

Valery watched her walk away, then looked down at the card in her hand, fuming with anger.

“She even claims to be skilled in physical therapy, cupping therapy, reflexology…”

“I think she’s just a charlatan, only able to fool old men and women. If she ends up killing someone, let’s see how she gets herself out of that!”

Nadine glanced at the business card in Valery’s hand, listening to her muttered curses.

She turned to Valery and asked, “When is Romina’s wellness clinic opening?”

Valery turned to look at Nadine beside her. “Why are you curious about that? Don’t tell me you’re actually planning to support her?”

Nadine’s brow relaxed a little, and she smiled calmly. “I just want to send Ms. Sandoval a grand opening gift.”

Seeing the smile on her face, Valery immediately understood.

She handed the business card to Nadine. “I’ll help you find out later.”

“No.” Nadine extended her fair, jade–like hand and pushed the card back to her. “It’s not appropriate for me to send this gift. It should be sent in your name.”

Valery asked curiously, “What are you planning to do?”

When Romina returned home with Lina in the evening, she spotted a very familiar figure from afar.

The man wore a white shirt and dress pants that made his long legs look even more slender. He leaned against the car, talking on the phone, his expression indifferent, exuding an air of aloof authority that made people hesitant to approach.

When his gaze shifted in this direction, he unintentionally met Romina’s eyes.

Joaquin ended the call and walked toward them.

“Mr. Bowman, what brings you here so suddenly?“,

Romina stood in front of him with Lina, a hint of surprise in her eyes.

“I came to see the child.”

The man’s tone was calm as he fixed his gaze on Lina.

“Lina, be polite.“.

Upon hearing Romina’s words, Lina obediently stood to the side and softly called out, “Uncle…”

Joaquin teased lightly, “Why aren’t you calling me Dad anymore?”

Lina shyly hid behind Romina, her smile bashful.

Seeing this, Romina also smiled calmly. “Mr. Bowman, since you’re already here, why not come up for a cup of tea?”

Joaquin nodded slightly. “I actually have something I’d like to discuss

with you privately.”

“Alright.”

Romina led the child and entered Breeze Vista first, with Joaquin following closely behind.

After they arrived home, Lina went to her room to do her homework, leaving only Romina and Joaquin in the living room.

Romina poured him a cup of tea and handed it to him. “Mr. Bowman, please have some tea.”

“Thank you.” Joaquin picked up the teacup but didn’t drink right away. “I came today to talk to you about making Lina my goddaughter.”

Romina paused. “Mr. Bowman, are you serious about this?”

“If we’re going to put on a show, we should do it properly.” Joaquin toyed with the teacup in his hand. “Since the word is already out, we should do it thoroughly. Later, you can ask Lina–if she’s willing to be my goddaughter…”

“I want to!”

Before Joaquin could finish, a childish voice suddenly came from the doorway.

Romina and Joaquin turned at the sound and saw Lina standing at the door, holding her homework notebook.
