Sad Tears 50

Sad Tears 50

chapter50

Then, she inserted a needle.

After that, there was a long ten-minute wait.

Neither of them spoke, quietly observing Hayden’s condition.

It wasn’t until blood trickled down Hayden’s spine into the cup

that Romina finally let out a sigh of relief.

Hayden’s consciousness gradually cleared, and his breathing

became much steadier than before.

After everything was taken care of, Joaquin stood by the

bedside and glanced down at his watch.

The entire treatment had taken less than fifteen minutes.

Looking across all of Straland, there really weren’t many people

with such skill…

“Grandpa, are you feeling better now?”

“Much better, my breathing is smooth now!” Hayden beamed at

Romina. “I owe it all to you tonight, Romi…”

“Grandpa, this is what I should do. Don’t think too much about

  1. Just rest well tonight, I’ll stay here and watch over you.”

“Alright.”

When Romina and Joaquin walked out of the room together,

Jericho was standing by the corridor, smoking.

Seeing Romina come out, Jericho quickly stubbed out his

cigarette and walked toward her.

Without even pausing, Jericho grabbed Romina by the wrist

and hurried downstairs. “Come with me, I have a few things to

talk to you about.”

“What are you doing? Let go of me!”

Romina struggled, but still couldn’t break free from his grip.

Joaquin walked to the stair railing, resting his hand on the

mahogany banister, watching as Jericho led Romina into a

room.

“Bang-”

The loud sound of the door slamming echoed deafeningly.

The man’s brows furrowed slightly, and his hand on the railing unconsciously tightened, his knuckles turning pale.

After hesitating for a moment, he finally started down the

stairs…

At this moment, inside the room.

Jericho flung Romina onto the bed, then looked down at her

from above. “Romina, what is this supposed to mean? You

ignored all my calls, but the moment Joaquin calls, you come

running! Are you deliberately trying to embarrass me?”

“I didn’t know Grandpa was unwell. How was I supposed to

know you were calling about that…”

The man cut her off: “You think I have nothing better to do

than call you for no reason?”

“That’s true, after all, you only ever call Nadine. Why would

you even think of me? You only come to me when you need

something, whether it was in the past or now!”

Romina’s tone was cold and detached, her voice extremely low.

As she tried to get up, Jericho suddenly reached out, gripping

her shoulder and pressing her firmly down onto the mattress.

“Romina, it’s always been your own scheming that got you into

trouble. You framed Nadine and ended up in prison. If you had

been a little more innocent, maybe I wouldn’t have nothing to

say to you…”

“What? Are you trying to justify your misconduct? And you

think it’s my fault that you went astray?”

“When did I ever go astray? Which of your eyes saw me do

anything wrong?”

Jericho’s hand on her shoulder continued to tighten its grip.

A chilling coldness radiated from his entire body.

“Do I even need to say it? Isn’t it already common knowledge?”

Romina sneered, her laughter icy. “Or is it that Ms. Lambert

couldn’t satisfy you, so you came back to your ex-wife?”

“I didn’t intend to do anything to you.”

“Then why are you still holding me down?”

Romina lifted her gaze, glaring at the man’s cold, sharp eyes, the

corners of her lips tinged with frost.

Jericho suddenly grabbed her chin, kneeling on one knee at her

left side. “Don’t forget, you’re still my wife in name. Isn’t it a

wife’s duty and responsibility to satisfy her husband?”

Romina stared at him coldly. “Let go.”

“Why are you resisting so much? Do you have someone else out

there?”

Jericho had no intention of letting her go, his grip only

tightening.

Romina quickly turned her head away, pulling her face out of

his palm.

Suddenly, the man pressed down on her, pinning her hands and

trapping her on the mattress.

He used all his strength, forcing her legs apart with his knee.

In that instant, an inexplicable tension rose in Romina’s chest.

“Jericho, what are you doing? Let me go right now!”

Romina’s voice rose a pitch.

“What else could I be doing?”

Jericho’s deep and dangerous voice drifted from the bedroom,

falling into the ears of the man outside the door.

Just a door apart, yet it was two different worlds, two entirely

different situations.

Joaquin’s hand had instinctively reached for the doorknob.

But just as he was about to touch it, he suddenly stopped.

They weren’t divorced yet. What reason did he have to open

that door?

At that moment, a muffled shout suddenly came from inside

the bedroom.

It wasn’t Romina’s.

It was Jericho’s.
