Sad Tears 49

Sad Tears 49

chapter49

After hesitating for a moment, Romina still pressed the answer

button: “Mr. Bowman…”

“Sir Bowman is having trouble breathing again. Could you

come over?”

Without a second thought, Romina quickly got up from her

chair: “Alright, I’ll be there right away.”

After hanging up, she quickly walked to the cabinet, took out

the physical therapy kit and a cup, and headed straight for the

door.

As she walked, she instructed Elliana, “I have an emergency and

need to go out. I might not be back tonight. I’ll leave Lina in your

care.”

“What happened?” Elliana quickly caught up, curiosity

flickering between her brows. “Is it another emergency with Sir

Bowman?”

“Yes.” Romina glanced back at her. “I’m leaving now!”

“Alright, be careful on the road.”

Once the door closed, Romina’s figure was cut off from view, as

was Elliana’s voice.

By the time Romina arrived at the Bowman’s mansion by taxi,

it was already eight in the evening.

The entire estate was brightly lit, and everyone was waiting for

her arrival.

“Ms. Sandoval, you’re finally here.”

The butler saw Romina carrying a medical kit, hurrying inside,

and quickly went up to greet her.

“How is Grandpa doing now?”

Romina followed him inside, her voice low but exceptionally

calm.

“He started having trouble breathing at dinner. We were going

to take him to the hospital, but Sir Bowman insisted it would be

too much for him and demanded you come instead.”

Romina nodded without replying.

Passing through the corridor and entering the living room, she

saw Jericho and Lenora sitting on the sofa, their faces especially

grave.

When Jericho saw Romina come in, he quickly got up to greet

her, and the resentment in his eyes was caught by her.

Led by the butler, Romina arrived at Hayden’s room.

That tall figure instantly came into her view.

Joaquin had been keeping watch by the bedside, his hand on

Hayden’s chest, helping him breathe more easily.

When he saw Romina arrive, he quickly stood up and nodded

to her.

Romina sat by the window and began to examine Hayden’s

condition.

The man beside her kept his gaze fixed on her.

This scene had already been taken in by Jericho, who stood

behind them.

He had called Romina several times today, and she hadn’t

answered a single call.

But with just one call from Joaquin, she came right away…

When did the two of them become so close?

“Leave one person here to help me support Grandpa. Everyone

else, please leave.”

Romina’s voice was soft, her face completely calm.

Jericho quickly stepped forward: “I’ll stay and help you.”

But before he could get close to the bed, the man beside him

blocked his way.

Joaquin’s voice was extremely low: “You leave. I’ll stay!”

His tone was indifferent, carrying a hint of undeniable

authority that everyone in the room could sense.

“Joaquin, after all, Romina and I are husband and wife. It’s most

appropriate for me to stay and assist her…”

“Jericho, get out now!””

Jericho hadn’t even finished speaking before a voice

interrupted him.

Hearing the voice, Romina looked up and saw that Lenora had

out.

The butler, who had been standing by, also quickly left and

closed the door after seeing the oppressive air around Joaquin.

At this moment, only the three of them remained in the room.

“How should I assist you?”

“I’m going to perform cupping therapy on Grandpa’s back to

release some blood. Mr. Bowman, please help me support him.”

Hayden’s eyes were unfocused; his condition was not good.

Joaquin quickly stepped forward, lifted his father from the bed,

deftly pulled open Hayden’s shirt to reveal his broad back, and

then braced his hands on either side of his father’s shoulders.

Romina swiftly took out the physical therapy kit and the cup,

and began the treatment with practiced hands.

As Romina worked with the cup, her fair, slender arm brushed

lightly against the man’s hand resting on the right side.

Skin against skin, a faint warmth spread through Joaquin’s

body.

But she was so focused that she didn’t even notice this detail.

Joaquin’s gaze fell on her beautiful profile.

A strand of hair slipped from her temple, and she gently

brushed it aside with her hand, continuing to apply the third

cup to Hayden.

This was the first time Joaquin had ever witnessed her treating

a patient in person.

Only four words came to mind.

Angel in white.

He didn’t know much about naturopathy, but he had seen

other doctors perform physical therapy and cupping therapy

before, and her technique was clearly much more professional

than any doctor he had seen.

She didn’t even need to use her fingertips to touch the patient’s

body to precisely locate the body points.
