Erick’s voice came from the front, and Joaquin shifted his gaze

back.

He rubbed the ring on his right hand, his voice deep. “Draft a

contract tomorrow and deliver it to her home in person. Sign it

with Nasir’s name. The property is under his name anyway, so

it’s all above board.”

Erick’s brows furrowed slightly.

Hearing this, he could more or less guess what was going on.

He nodded quickly. “Understood, Mr. Bowman.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Joaquin’s phone rang.

He glanced down at the screen-it was his closest friend, Nasir

Tucker.

He put the phone to his ear. “What’s up?”

“Someone you know offered one hundred and twenty

thousand a month for your tea house. I know that’s nothing to

you, but it’s just sitting there empty. Are you really not

considering renting it out? After all, that place…”

“It’s already been leased.”

Joaquin was concise.

“Leased? When did that happen? I just heard Erick say

yesterday that the place was still available!”

Nasir’s voice on the other end was full of surprise.

The man replied calmly, “Just now.””

Nasir pressed on, unwilling to give up. “How much did you

lease it for? Don’t let anyone take advantage of you. That

location should go for at least a hundred thousand…”

“Five thousand.”

“What? Joaquin, are you out of your mind? I know you don’t

care much about that place, but it was the first property we

bought together! You can’t just let it go for next to nothing!”

“I’ll have Erick deliver the contract tonight.”

Before the other party could respond, Joaquin quickly hung up.

Although their call wasn’t on speaker, the volume from the

earpiece was

vv, a

light, Erick had heard everything clearly.

He truly couldn’t understand what Joaquin’s intentions were in

doing this.

When Romina arrived at the school gate, a teacher was already

waiting for her.

She had visited three schools recently, but only ‘Brightlyn

School’ had the best reputation. With summer vacation approaching, she needed to help Lina enroll before the term ended, so Lina could get used to school life a couple of weeks

early.

As Romina was leaving the school, she heard someone call out

behind her: “Romina, what are you doing here?”

Hearing the voice, she stopped and turned around, meeting the

man’s deep eyes. Her body tensed slightly.

The person standing behind her was Jericho.

The man stopped in front of her. “Did the teacher contact you

to attend Kash’s parent meeting too?”

So he was here to attend Kashton’s parent-teacher meeting.

No wonder Nadine had time to take Kashton around today.

“No,” Romina replied coldly. “I’m here for something else.”

“This is a school, and it’s Kash’s school. What else could you

possibly be here to deal with?” Jericho’s gaze darkened. “Are

you doing something behind my back, hiding things from me?”

The man reached out and grabbed her arm tightly.

A wave of pain spread across Romina’s arm, making her furrow

her brows.

“Let go.”

Romina’s tone was icy, her eyes filled with coldness.

“What? Is my life supposed to revolve around you and your

son? Can’t I have my own private matters? Just because I came

to Kashton’s school, does that mean I can only deal with his

affairs?”

When Jericho lowered his eyes, he met her shimmering gaze.

The coldness in her eyes was more indifferent than ever before.

She was colder than a stranger…

As her words fell, Romina summoned all her strength and

shook off the man’s grip.

Just as she was about to leave, Jericho quickly stepped forward

and blocked her path.

His voice was low. “You still haven’t given me an explanation

about Grandpa.”

Romina was forced to stop in her tracks.

Of course, she knew he was referring to her medical skills.

“What’s there to explain? I saved your grandfather. If you don’t

appreciate it, fine, but you come here to question me?”

“Romina, stop pretending,” Jericho said sternly, eyeing her. “I

specifically asked the chief doctor. Even the specialists didn’t

dare attempt physical therapy that day, but you did it without

hesitation. What exactly are you hiding from me?”

“I’m not hiding anything. My medical skills have always been

excellent. You just never bothered to truly understand me.”

Romina looked at him expressionlessly.

Every time she saw that face, she was reminded of the

chapter

grievances she had suffered and her experiences in prison.

The more she looked, the deeper the pain and resentment in her

heart grew.

“Do you know someone named ‘A Yun’? Are you her disciple?”

At those words, Romina’s back suddenly stiffened.

Yet her expression didn’t change at all. She lifted her bright eyes

and stared at him. “Why? Do you have some incurable disease

and need her for a pulse diagnosis?”
