Chapter 21 

She sneered, “Do I need one?” 

After pouring the tea, he slammed it onto the table and looked 

up at her indifferent expression. 

A dull thud rang out the second the cup collided with the 

expensive marble coffee table. 

It echoed in the entire living room. 

“Romina, you’ll be struggling.after divorcing me. Have you 

thought about that? You’ll be a divorced woman-an ex-con, no 

less. I hate to break this to you, but chances are, you probably 

won’t get a job.” 

She let out a cold laugh again. 

Finding a job? Why would she do that? She was set to build her 

own business. 

“Cut it out already. I know you’re just afraid Hayden will kick 

you and Kashton out.” She stood up. “I’ll call him and take the 

responsibility. Ms. Lambert and you won’t be blamed.” 

With that, she intended to leave. 

Chapter 21 

“Did I say you could go?” 

Jericho sprang up from the sofa, too. 

She didn’t stop in her tracks. “Mr. Bowman, please sign the 

papers at your earliest convenience.”” 

Just then, he grabbed her arm from behind and carried her onto 

his shoulder again. 

Then he flung her back onto the sofa. His long legs straddled her 

slender waist, knees sinking into the fabric, while he clutched 

her wrists and pressed them against the back of the sofa firmly. 

She found herself pinned at once. 

They’d shared plenty of intimate moments before, but she was 

usually the one making the first move. 

This was the first. 

She looked up at him warily. “What do you want?” 

“Stay here for the following days. Don’t go anywhere. I’m not 

gonna sign the papers unless we smooth things over with 

Grandpa.” 

His voice was deep, something dangerous surging in his 

unreadable eyes. 

“You have no right to confine me.” She kept struggling hard. “Let 

go!” 

Yet he didn’t loosen his grip at all, as if he hadn’t heard her. 

“Jericho, that’s a bit rude. Picking on ex-wives doesn’t seem like 

our family’s tradition, right?” 

Suddenly, an extremely magnetic, pleasant voice came from the 

villa entrance. 

Both of them turned around at once. 

Romina was stunned instantly. 

Joaquin? 

What was he doing here? 

At the sight of Joaquin, Jericho quickly let go and stood up. 

“Joaquin? Why are you here?” 

Romina sat upright at once and instinctively smoothed her 

slightly tousled hair. 

“I heard Hayden had an outburst yesterday, so I went back to 

the mansion to check on him. Kash had stayed overnight and 

insisted on leaving with me.” 

While saying casually, Joaquin glanced at Romina. 

Their eyes locked for a second before he looked away. 

He had heard the commotion when the Maybach had pulled 

into the courtyard, so he had asked Erick to take Kashton to the garden at the back. 

“Where’s Kash?” Jericho asked. 

“Do you really want him to see this?” Joaquin said while sitting 

across from Romina, his hands tucked in his pockets. 

Her gaze instinctively fell upon him. That commanding presence of his seemed to engulf everything. 

Jericho poured him some tea. “Joaquin, we were just talking about the divorce. Grandpa was furious yesterday, and I gotta 

calm him down first!” 

Joaquin glanced at the teacup, but had no intention of picking it 

He said, his tone tinged with indifference, “Since you want a 

divorce, why should others’ opinion matter?” 

Jericho was stunned for a second, looking torn. 

To put it bluntly, most of his empire was inherited from the 

Bowman family, particularly from Hayden. 

He dared not disobey Hayden, who put him where he was. 

“I’ll call Hayden and explain to him that the divorce is what I 

want. It’ll be appreciated if you don’t make this difficult for me again,” Romina quickly said to Jericho. 

Then she rose from the sofa and headed out without looking 

back. 

Joaquin’s arrival was a great chance for her to leave.
