Romina, feeling a bit weary, sat down on the sofa. “You really have a wild imagination. What kind of relationship could I possibly have with Joaquin?” 

“I’ve already seen the photos!” Jericho’s eyes were icy cold. “You two are so close, yet you tell me there’s nothing? Do you think I’ll believe Mom?” 

The man pulled out his phone and held it out in front of her. 

Romina was momentarily stunned when she saw the photos. 

The photos were taken right at the entrance of Breeze Vista, exactly as she had expected. 

Romina quickly looked up, her expression puzzled. “Why have you been having people watch Breeze Vista?” 

“What else could I do?” Jericho put his phone away. “Of course I’m worried that, at the last moment, you’ll put a green hat on me!” 

“If that’s how you see it, haven’t you already done such dirty things yourself?” Romina’s lips curled into a cold smile. “You and Nadine have been ambiguous for ages. You think I don’t know? You’ve always treated me like a fool, haven’t you?” 

“Your situation can’t be compared to ours!” 

Jericho’s voice was filled with chilling coldness. 

“Can’t be compared? Is it because I’ve been to prison, and I’m not as noble as your Nadine, so it’s not comparable, right?” 

At these words, Jericho was instantly at a loss for words. 

“And I asked you to sign the papers! You’re the one who’s been dragging it out. It’s not that I don’t want a divorce now–it’s you who’s been delaying it!” 

A terrifying coldness suddenly intensified in Romina’s eyes. 

“If only Grandpa’s health were better, I wouldn’t have kept delaying things. If you’re really that capable, why don’t you go talk to Grandpa yourself!”

Jericho instinctively swallowed, momentarily at a loss for words. 

“I don’t care if the man around you is Joaquin or not…” Jericho’s voice rose a notch. “I advise you not to test my limits. Before we’re officially divorced, don’t do anything to betray me again. If I find out, I won’t let you off easily.” 

Without waiting for her response, Jericho strode quickly toward the door. 

“Bang-” 

A loud slamming sound echoed in her ears. 

Romina turned to look; the door had already been closed from the outside. 

The room instantly fell into a deathly silence. 

Romina lowered her eyes, staring blankly at the floor, her gaze unfocused. 

“Did he hit you?” 

A deep, low voice interrupted Romina’s thoughts. 

She looked up at the sound, glancing toward the balcony. 

Joaquin strode closer, his face extremely grim. 

Romina was surprised. 

He came in from there, which could only mean one thing.

“He didn’t touch me, and he didn’t hit me…” Romina reached for his arm, trying to pull his hand away. “Mr. Bowman, you don’t need to worry about me. 

Joaquin seemed to realize his behavior was inappropriate and let go of her face. 

Romina instinctively walked to the door and locked it. 

When she looked back, the man was already sitting on the sofa, his posture somewhat lazy. 

Romina walked back to his side and asked in a low voice, “Why did you suddenly come back?” 

“Erick said today was the day you came to check on Sir Bowman, so I came by to try my luck.” Joaquin suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. “Because I wanted to see you.”
