Chapter 27
Avery’s lungs made a full recovery after six months of treatment. The doctor told her that she could go diving again once she had given birth.
Two months later, she gave birth to a pair of adorable twins. Her body steadily got better under Julian’s
meticulous care.
One afternoon, when the children were napping, Julian suddenly asked, “Do you want to go diving?”
Avery nodded. “I do, but the kids are too young. We can go diving together once they’re a little older.”
Julian smiled, saying, “No. Let’s go now.”
He then held her hand and led her outside.
Avery was stunned. “Where are we going?”
“You’ll know once we’re there,” he answered mysteriously.
There was a luxurious private jet idling on the tarmac outside the villa.
Avery looked at Julian in confusion. “Are we flying out of the country? I didn’t bring my passport.”
“I have it,” he replied, pulling out two passports from his pocket.
Avery burst into laughter. “I see you’ve already decided to take me diving even before we stepped out of
the house.”
“More accurately, I’ve been planning this for half a year now.”
Julian held Avery’s hand as they boarded the private jet. Two hours later, the jet landed on a beautiful island. The scenery was breathtaking, and the ocean was a crystalline blue. Strangely, there wasn’t a single tourist on the island.
“Did you reserve the whole island?” Avery asked. “Or does this island belong to you?”
Julian shook his head. “The island belongs to you.”
“Me?” Avery asked, stunned.
“Yes,” he replied warmly. “Six years ago, I bought this island after I confessed to you. There was nothing on it at the time, so I couldn’t present it to you.”
It took a long time for Avery to regain her senses, even after she heard Julian’s explanation. She looked around and realized that the island was fully equipped with everything one could need. It was clear that Julian had poured his blood, sweat, and tears into it.
“I planted every tree on the island with my own hands,” Julian continued. “I also built the wooden cottage over there myself. Every time I was in a bad mood, I would visit this island and spend some time here. I

thought that I would never get to give this island to you, but fortunately, fate decided otherwise.

“I don’t have to be alone anymore whenever I visit the island. Oh, right. Once our children are a little older, we can bring them along with us.”
Avery felt a little choked up as she recalled everything that had transpired in the past year, as well as the care and company that Julian had given her.
Julian was thoroughly shocked by her reaction. “Do you not like this place?” he asked hastily. “Don’t cry.
We can leave right now-”
“No,” Avery blubbered. “I like it a lot. I just don’t know why you’re so good to me.”
She didn’t dare to fall in love with anyone else after what happened with Damien. However, the way Julian
treated her was enough for her to fall for him.
Julian could tell what she was thinking about. He reached out and wiped the tears from her eyes. “I knew how I felt about you from the moment I laid eyes on you, Avery. I love you, and I’ll never love anyone else in this lifetime. Even if you don’t love me, my love for you will never change.
“But I still hope that, for the sake of the kids, you’ll give me a chance. Can you do that?”
The setting sun had turned the ocean gold. A faint floral fragrance permeated the air around them. Avery felt her heart skip a beat as she stared at Julian. There were a million things that she wanted to say to him, but she couldn’t bear to break the silence at this moment.
In the end, she pushed herself up on her tiptoes and kissed him.
