Chapter 85

Elena didn’t sleep well the entire night. She kept having strange dreams, but she couldn’t recall what exactly happened when she woke up.

The only thing she remembered was Alexander appearing in her dream.

She had to be going crazy.

Elena fumbled for her phone on the bedside table in a daze and noticed a text from an unfamiliar number.

“Where are you?”

There was no greeting, and the person didn’t introduce who he was, but Elena guessed the sender

immediately.

It was probably Justin. She had blocked his original number, so he must have gotten a new number. It looked like she needed to change her number urgently.

Of course, Elena wasn’t about to reply to the message. She deleted it and then opened WhatsApp.

She saw a new message from Zachary. “Ms. Miller, are you free to have dinner together tonight?”

It had been sent a little after 5:00 am in the morning. How had he been awake that early?

“Alright,” Elena replied to his message.

Zachary sent another message right after she answered. “Is there anything you’d like to eat?”

“You can decide.”

A few minutes later, he sent her some information about a restaurant. “This place just opened. I heard it’s really good. Do you want to give it a try?”

Elena glanced at it and replied, “Sure.”

“Alright, I’ll pick you up at five this evening.”

“Okay.”

Meanwhile, Justin stared at his phone as he sat in his office at the Riggs Group. He didn’t look away from the screen even once, and he seemed determined to bore a hole through the glass with his gaze.

The screen displayed the message he had sent Elena.

“Where are you?”

He had waited until now, but there was still no reply from her.

Yesterday, Justin had ordered his assistant to check Elena’s travel records. However, he had come up

with nothing after investigating every possible mode of transport, including planes, high-speed rail, or trains. There was no trace of her records anywhere.

Did Elena think this was enough to toy with him?

If so, she was gravely mistaken! Once Elena returned, he would give her a good scolding so that she would never dare to leave him without a word again.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the office door.

“Come in.”

Justin looked up and saw Nadine enter his office with a cup of coffee. “Jus, have some coffee,” she said gently as she walked over to him and set the steaming cup on his desk.

Justin rubbed his throbbing forehead. “Thank you.”

“Why are you thanking me?” Nadine said with a smile. She unexpectedly caught a glimpse of Justin’s phone screen. Her eyes flashed imperceptibly when she saw the three words in his message.

Justin lifted the cup and took a sip of coffee. He furrowed his brows slightly at the taste, but he said nothing and set the cup aside.

Nadine noticed his reaction and asked in a hurry, “Jus, is there something wrong with it?”

He replied, “No, I just think…”
