Chapter 64

Michael trembled all over from fear. “Justin, you’ve got to save me…”

Justin let out a short laugh and lowered his head to glance at his phone. He suddenly noticed the message Michael had sent him earlier.

“Right, why didn’t you tell me Elena knew someone so amazing? Or did you not know about it either?”

Justin frowned as he looked up and asked Michael, “Did Lena go to the club with someone amazing

tonight?”

Michael was still overwhelmed by his fear of Alexander and didn’t hear Justin at all. Only when Justin kicked him did he jolt back to his senses. “What?”

Justin asked again, “I’m asking you if Lena was with someone amazing tonight.”

Justin said, “It was Mr. Jared Pittman! The current CEO of Miller Group’s Slushire branch! He’s quite a powerful person! If it weren’t for my friend, I would never have gotten to attend a gathering hosted by

someone like him.”

Justin’s expression stiffened. He suddenly remembered the middle-aged man who had appeared in the

hospital when Elena was admitted for a concussion.

At the time, he had assumed that the man was just some poor relative of Elena’s. But it turned out that he

was actually a top executive at Miller Group?

In the past, the CEO of a branch company wouldn’t have been worth much attention, but Justin was searching for opportunities to work with Miller Group at that moment. If this Jared person could open doors for him, it might lead somewhere.

Why had Elena never mentioned that she had a relative with such a high position in Miller Group?

Justin quickly searched online for information on Jared.

The information showed that Jared was no ordinary person. He had been working under Miller Group’s chairman for decades and was deeply trusted. In fact, he had been transferred to Slushire precisely because the branch had run into serious issues.

So, Jared was someone who had the ear of Miller Group’s chairman.

Justin frowned. Back at the hospital, he hadn’t exactly been polite to Jared. Should he ask Elena to put in a good word?

But she was still upset with him. What would he do if he asked Elena to help and she refused?

Michael asked, “Justin, what are you thinking about? Didn’t you hear what I said just now? Please help me.

I won’t be able to handle it if Alexander really decides to retaliate!”

Justin said coldly, “What are you panicking for? I doubt Alexander will even bother with you.”

Michael had no response to that. He felt a sting to his pride, and a hint of resentment flickered on his

face.

Yet, thinking about it, a little wounded pride was better than being targeted by Alexander.

Justin wasn’t wrong. Alexander hadn’t even glanced at him today.

“Why would Lena’s uncle have a different surname?” Justin suddenly wondered.

The question left Michael baffled. “What? Maybe he’s not actually her uncle, or he’s just some distant relative. But Mr. Pittman did treat her very well. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have brought her to the gathering.”

Justin recalled that Jared had shown genuine concern for Elena in the hospital.

The more he thought about it, the more he regretted it. If only he had known earlier that her relative was a

senior executive at Miller Group, then he…

At that moment, the hospital room door was suddenly pushed open. Standing at the door was Nadine. She stared at Justin with reddened eyes, not saying a word.

Michael couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the promise of more drama to come.
