Chapter 59

“No need,” Elena quickly said. She didn’t want to disturb Jared’s gathering because of her own personal matters. “I’ll go on my own. You don’t need to worry about me.”

Since she insisted, Jared didn’t press any further.

Elena left alone, thinking there was no way she would bump into Justin. Little did she know that he had actually been nearby, and he had immediately rushed over the moment he got the address from Michael.

So, just as Elena stepped out of the elevator on the first floor, she came face-to-face with Justin.

Behind her, the mirrored steel doors were slowly closing. Overhead lights cast sharp reflections across the polished marble floor.

And at the end of the glowing strip of light stood Justin.

He looked as if he had just come in from outside. The chill of the night wind still clung to his black suit jacket, and his tie was loosened slightly. His usually neat black hair was a little messy, showing that he

had rushed over in a hurry.

Even Justin couldn’t explain why he was so anxious. But the image of Elena leaving the office had been on his mind all night. Even when he was with Nadine earlier, he had felt restless.

Justin had been attending a dinner event nearby when Michael told him that Elena was here. The moment he received the message, he hadn’t even bothered to explain the situation to anyone before he drove

straight over.

“Lena.” Justin stepped forward, complicated emotions swirling in his eyes. “Come home with me.”

Elena’s brows furrowed tightly, her impatience and annoyance clearly written on her face.

“We’ve already broken up,” she said coldly.

Justin took a deep breath and tried to move closer to her. Yet, she instantly moved sideways to keep her

distance.

Justin looked weary. “Are you still angry with me? Lena, it’s been almost a month. Let’s stop this, alright?”

Before Elena could respond, he said, “I know you’ve suffered a lot because of Nadi. When we go back tonight, I’ll talk to Mom and have her take Nadi back to our old house.”

“Mr. Riggs, that’s your family matter. You don’t need to report it to me. Where anyone in your family stays has nothing to do with me.” Elena’s expression was icy. “We’ve broken up, and I’ve resigned from Riggs Group. We no longer need to have anything to do with each other.”

Elena turned to leave, but Justin suddenly grabbed her wrist.

She immediately tried to pull away, but his grip only tightened.

Chapter 50

“Justin!” Elena winced in pain.

Just then, another elevator dinged open on the first floor.

Michael poked his head out, and his eyes widened the moment he spotted them in the corner. He let out a surprised gasp before quickly covering his mouth and retreating inside.

However, he didn’t forget to sneakily take a blurry photo of their figures.

He posted it with the caption, “A couple’s quarrel. A front-row seat to the drama.”

Meanwhile, in the private room of an upscale restaurant nearby, a man in his 40s was carefully making a toast to Alexander, who was sitting at the head of the table. “Thank you for honoring us with presence tonight, Mr. Golden. Here’s to you.”

your

“You’re too polite, Mr. Jones.” Alexander lifted the glass in front of him and lightly clinked it against

Edward Jones’.

Even though Alexander didn’t actually drink, Edward already looked delighted. After all, Alexander was the Prince of Hupolis. Just reaching this point was already a great honor for Edward.

If it weren’t for his small connection to a part of the Golden family, he would never have been able to invite Alexander to dinner tonight.

Draining his own glass, Edward signaled to the young woman seated beside him, Clara Jones.

She was strikingly beautiful and had obviously taken great care to dress up well. Everything from her makeup to her outfit was flawless.

She looked at Alexander and blushed faintly. Then, she picked up her wine glass and stood up gracefully, walking over to him. “Mr. Golden, let me toast you as well.”
