Chapter 54
Nadine was afraid that Justin would bring up divorce again. So, after crying and making a fuss for a while, she said she needed to rest and sent him away.
Looking at her sallow face in the mirror, she gritted her teeth. She wanted nothing more than to rip Elena
to shreds.
This was all Elena’s fault. If not for her, Nadine wouldn’t be in this predicament.
From now on, Nadine would always carry this stain on her record. The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.
Then, she suddenly remembered something. She hurriedly picked up her phone and went on her social media app, wanting to see how much attention her dance video was getting.
Before she had been detained, she had noticed that the video had already gained a lot of popularity. There had been countless comments praising her and even some criticizing Elena, much to her delight. Surely, the numbers had climbed even higher by now.
But when she opened the app, she discovered that her account had been permanently banned, and all her uploaded videos were deleted.
What was going on?
Nadine was utterly shocked.
She tried searching on other platforms, remembering that her video had been widely re-uploaded when it gained traction. Yet, nothing came up no matter where she looked. Every trace of her video had been wiped clean from the internet.
Just as she sat there in anger and confusion, she suddenly received a message from the head of her
dance club.
“Sorry, Ms. Riggs. After internal discussion, we’ve decided to ask you to leave the club. We’ve already posted an announcement on our official site. From now on, your actions will no longer be associated with
us.”
Nadine’s mind buzzed as she read her message. She quickly typed back. “What do you mean? Why are
you forcing me out?”
But right after she sent the message, she only saw one gray tick appear next to her text. Then, she got a
notification that she had been removed from the group chat. It seemed like the dance club leader had not only blocked her but also kicked her out of the group.
Nadine clenched her teeth hard.
The dance club might not be a professional organization, but it was still large and well-connected with several other dance organizations.
Most importantly, she was called the Dance Queen within the club. Now that they had kicked her out, who would recognize that title anymore?
Once word spread, she would become a laughingstock.
Could Elena have orchestrated this?
No, after what had happened to her leg two years ago, Elena hadn’t taken part in any of the club’s activities. She didn’t have any connections left within the club either.
Could it have been Alexander?
The thought sent a chill down Nadine’s spine. If Alexander really did this to protect Elena, then he must be
serious about her.
Wouldn’t that mean that Elena had gotten herself a tremendous backer?
After all, the Golden family was one of the four most prestigious families in Hupolis. Lately, there had even been whispers that they were rising to the very top. Some even called Alexander the Prince of Hupolis.
Sure, the Riggs family was powerful, but compared to the Golden family…
Nadine’s chest tightened as she thought of telling Justin, but then she remembered how hard she had just
worked to calm him down and stop him from filing for divorce.
If she bothered him now, wouldn’t it only make him even more unhappy?
Whatever. At least she could still dance, unlike Elena, who was stuck being a cripple for the rest of her life.
Alexander’s interest in Elena might just be a passing fancy. After all, how could a man in his position ever give his heart to just one person?
