Chapter 32

At this moment, Jared couldn’t care less about the chaotic situation in front of him. His expression was tense as he anxiously asked about Elena’s condition.
“Where are you hurt? What did the doctor say?” he asked, his voice filled with worry.
After all, he had watched Elena grow up. With her suddenly being injured and in the hospital, he couldn’t
help but worry.
“It’s just a mild concussion from hitting my head on the cabinet. The doctor said it’s nothing serious,” Elena replied.
Jared breathed a sigh of relief. “Good to hear.”
He then turned to Alexander and Justin, standing nearby, a flicker of confusion in his eyes.
But Jared was quick-witted, and soon enough, he pieced together the situation.
Alexander helped Elena sit down again and said, “You shouldn’t get up so quickly.”
Elena nodded and lowered her gaze. “I know… Thank you, Mr. Golden.”
Standing tall, Alexander’s icy gaze fixed on Justin.
“How did Ms. Miller end up with a mild concussion?” he asked.
Justin’s heart skipped a beat, but he quickly regained his composure and responded calmly, “It was just
an accident. Lena slipped and fell.”
“Really?” Elena scoffed, her voice laced with disbelief. “Justin, do you even need to rehearse your lies?”
“Lena!”
Justin furrowed his brows, thinking, “Can’t she just cooperate with me in front of others? She’s becoming
more and more unreasonable!”
O
“Why are you calling her? Are you asking her to lie for you?” Jared’s tone was sharp now, his expression
turning serious.
“Who are you?” Justin asked, sizing him up.
Jared had only just arrived in Slushire this year, and since the Miller Group’s branch company had little interaction with the Riggs Group, Justin hadn’t met him before.
“I’m Lena’s uncle,” Jared said, standing tall with an air of authority. “And I have the right to know why she has a mild concussion.”
He had heard rumors before that Elena and Samuel had been at odds over a man. Looking at Justin, standing right in front of him, it was clear that he was the one involved.
But since Elena was already set to enter a marriage alliance with Alexander, it seemed she had already cut ties with him. There was no need to show him any respect.
“Uncle…?” Justin glanced at Elena.
Seeing her not denying it, Justin assumed he was just some distant relative and didn’t take it seriously.
“It was just an accident…”
“It was Nadine who pushed me,” Elena said, cutting off any chance for Justin to keep lying. She was done
with his excuses.
“Oh, she’s the one standing outside-Justin’s sweet sister.”
“Lena, you…”
Elena ignored Justin’s attempt to stop her and continued, “Nadine pushed me on purpose, and I hit the
back of my head on the cabinet. I’m going to sue her.”
“Wait, what?” Jared exploded, his face turning red with anger. “Pushed you on purpose? How dare she!”
The tension in the hospital room was palpable. Justin’s face twisted in shock and anger. His jaw clenched, veins pulsing at his temples.
He never expected that, in front of everyone, Elena would show him no respect at all.
He couldn’t believe Elena was actually talking about suing Nadine. She had completely lost her mind.
She was making a scene and blowing things out of proportion to such an extent over something so trivial.
“Well, go ahead and sue,” Alexander spoke up. “I’ll take care of it.”
Elena was taken aback and quickly replied, “No need. My uncle will…”
“Don’t worry, Lena. You don’t have to be formal with Mr. Golden,” Jared interjected. “Since Mr. Golden has
offered, let him handle it.”
“Don’t you dare file a lawsuit!” Josephine suddenly burst into the hospital room.
She had been listening attentively to the conversation from outside the door just now.
When Elena mentioned suing Nadine, she became frantic.
