Chapter 65
David’s face flushed with embarrassment.
He had hoped to complain about Sean to Delilah, thinking that as a family elder, she would care about appearances.
After all, no one would pick a fight with someone who came with a good attitude.
As a former student of Leo Reedshaw, David felt that it was right for him to pay
his
respects.
He thought, ‘It seems that I have overestimated the Reedshaw family’s generosity.

‘Such a family is bound to fall apart sooner or later. I will be waiting for the day when Delilah comes to him and begs for help‘
David’s brows furrowed. “I don’t mean any harm, just giving you a heads–up
“Josie spent four years studying cytology, and suddenly switching to acupuncture isn’t going to be a walk in the park for her.
“The Reedshaw family has always cared about their reputation. Don’t go tarnishing Leo Reedshaw Leo Reedshaw Leo’s name.”
Delilah’s face was full of sarcasm and contempt. “So, in your eyes, the so–called family name and reputation matter more than the students themselves.
“No wonder…
“My father was truly farsighted to kick you out back then. A pretentious fraud like you is a real tragedy for our students.
“As a teacher, all I care about is that if she wants to learn, I’ll teach her with everything I have.
“How far she will get is not something you need to worry about, Professor Lawson.”
David felt a sharp pang in his chest. Cutting ties with Leo was the one thing he regretted most in his entire life.
Even though it hadn’t been what he wanted back then, it still left a mark on him.
If not for his impressive academic record, he would’ve been kicked out of the school administration over that mess a long time ago.
David wanted to argue back, but just then, the door behind Delilah opened, and Sean stepped out.
Sean sneered, “Auntie, why waste your breath on him? Did you drink too much water today?”
He wondered if she got so much spit to waste.
Sean’s cold gaze sent a shiver down David’s spine. Without another word, David turned and hurried away.
Delilah grinned. “Sean, you really are something. You even dare to talk back to a professor!
“Were you the one who kept him from coming to the funeral before?”
Sean didn’t deny it. “I saw him lecturing Josic, so I stepped in and talked to him. Who knew he was so thin–skinned?”
“Good for you!” Delilah honestly didn’t care what Sean had said. As long as David didn’t show up at the Reedshaw family,
that was a win.

Chapter 65
When Josie got back to her dorm that night, she planned to study a bit more.

Although the semester had only just begun, acupuncture was a whole new world to her compared to the field she’d always studied.
It was already past eleven the night before, and Josie was still burning the midnight oil. Zoey yawned.
She said. “Josie, why don’t I come over and help you tomorrow?
“You’ve got the competition to prepare for and all this new stuff to learn–it’s gotta be exhausting!”
Josie’s eyes sparkled. “You said it, so no take–backs! I’m messaging my team right now.”
True to her word, she immediately sent a message to the group chat and even pulled Zoey in.
The next morning, as Josie got up to head to the lab, she suddenly noticed there was another new member in the group chat.
Before Josie could say anything, Zoey climbed down from her top bunk. “I don’t have any classes this morning, so let’s go!” “Alright.” Josie put her phone away and headed to the school cafeteria with Zoey.
On the way to the cafeteria, they had to pass by the archive room.
“Hey, isn’t that Natalie Kinberg? What’s she doing in the archive room so early?” Zoey jerked her chin in that direction. Josie followed her gaze and ended up face–to–face with Natalie, who was carrying a stack of files.
Natalie flashed them a sweet smile. “Morning, girls!”
“Morning!” Josie nodded casually and pulled Zoey into the cafeteria.
Zoey clicked her tongue. “Her smile is oddly sweet, isn’t it?”
“It really is.” Josie gave a small, wry smile.
She said, “Not only does she have a sweet smile, but her voice is nice too. She’s so well–behaved and cute. No wonder everyone likes her.”
Otherwise, the professors and students wouldn’t all be fussing over her like that.
Josie believed the stack of materials Natalie was carrying looked like a prep book for the postgraduate entrance exam.
