Chapter 5

Hanna giggled, collapsing onto Xavier’s lap, her fists lightly pounding his chest. “Oh, stop! This is so embarrassing!”

Someone in the crowd shouted, “A confession’s boring. Let’s hear the truth! Hanna, when you ‘helped’ Xavier with his needs, what really happened? Spill the details!”

Amid the laughter, Hanna suddenly stood and reached for Xavier.

He caught her hand, laughing. “You’re asking for it!”

In the scuffle, he accidentally grabbed the strap of her bikini and pulled-the strap snapped.

Hanna screamed, and Xavier instinctively pulled her into his arms, shouting at the crowd, “Turn around! No one looks!”

The waves crashed against the yacht as he gently tied her strap back, his fingers brushing her bare back. Their eyes met,

sparks flying.

In that moment, I watched the Alpha I’d once loved shatter into irreparable pieces.

And there I was, wrapped in my coat, hiding in the shadows of the deck like a shadow myself, watching someone else’s happiness unfold before my eyes. The father of my unborn child was instinctively protecting another Omega, completely forgetting about me-his pregnant Luna, carrying his own bloodline.

Soren, beside me, clenched his fists, ready to confront them, but I stopped him. After a moment of hesitation, I dialed

Xavier’s number.

From a distance, I saw his phone light up, my name flashing on the screen. He glanced at it but didn’t answer. The ringing continued, but he just stared at it until it stopped.

Hanna saw the caller ID and pouted, wrapping her arms around Xavier’s neck. “You promised today was just for me. No

distractions-not even her calls! Or I’ll never talk to you again.”

Xavier chuckled, tossing his phone into a glass of wine, raising an eyebrow at Hanna. “Happy now, Princess?”

Seeing her nod, he lifted her into the air, spinning her around as she squealed with delight.

I stopped recording, tears soaking my mask-six years of love, reduced to this. Xavier, you’d better be ready to face the

consequences.

The group eventually settled under the yacht’s awning, chatting.

Hanna’s voice carried over the wind, filled with pride. “Actually, the night Xavier marked his mate bond with Rosalie, I got drunk and told him, ‘Why can’t I just marry any Alpha?’ He panicked and ran to me with Rosalie’s custom pack wedding dress. Guess what? We held our own little mating ceremony under the moon, just the two of us!”

My heart ached-the wedding dress I’d searched for, the one Xavier claimed was “ruined and lost,” had been used in their childish game.

Hanna continued, her tone smug. “I joked that a mating ceremony made us real mates and said, ‘I want a pup, but I’m

scared of the pain.’ Guess what he did?”

Xavier sat nearby, drinking, not stopping her, his eyes filled with indulgence.

Amid the crowd’s urging, Hanna lifted her chin proudly. “He took me to get embryos made! He said, ‘When we have a pup,

Rosalie can raise it for us.””
