Chapter 67

Outside the suite, Gloria twirled her hair around her fingertips. Her eyes gleamed with a cold glare. After everything Nicole had been through, she was still alive and even had the energy to go shopping?
Gloria pulled out her phone and left while making a call.
“Hello, Olivia. Could you come with me tomorrow to get a few things for Hayden?” Her gentle voice was like the spring breeze, fading down the hallway.
The next day, Nicole felt that her body had recovered slightly after a good night’s rest. She still felt weak and a little dizzy, but apart from that, she could move around freely.
Jeremiah was uneasy, to say the least. After he examined her body and confirmed that she could go out,
he finally let her leave the hospital.
After that, Nicole called for a cab and headed straight to the mall. When she arrived at the luxury watch
store, she stood in front of the counter and started choosing a watch.
The few salespeople at the store were in the middle of a conversation. When they saw Nicole enter, they
glanced at each other, but no one was willing to serve her.
After making a tour around the store, Nicole noticed that none of the salespeople had come over to offer
their assistance. Only when she looked down did she realize she had forgotten to change out of her
hospital gown.
Also, she wasn’t wearing any makeup, and she had her hair tied up loosely. She definitely didn’t look like
someone who was about to spend hundreds of millions on a watch.
She smiled helplessly. “Hi, could you show me this watch, please?” She pointed at a watch that
dominated the center of the display.
It was a deep blue watch with a mechanical dial. A tag noting the price of 13 million dollars was clearly
marked in the most prominent spot.

The salesperson strolled over slowly. Instead of taking out the watch, though, she frowned and eyed
Nicole up and down.
“Miss, which hospital did you sneak out of? If you’re not feeling well, I could call you a cab, and you can be on your way back. Looking at your condition, it doesn’t seem like you’re fit to be looking at watches.”
Of course, Nicole felt offended. She lifted her gaze, her eyes cool and detached.
“Don’t concern yourself with that. I’m here as a customer. You don’t need to worry about anything else.
Just bring me the watch I asked to see. Am I understood?”
At that moment, Nicole was calm yet unyielding. Her quiet composure made the salesperson forget that

Nicole was dressed in a hospital gown.
The salesperson froze, cleared her throat awkwardly, then hurried to bring out the watch.
Nicole observed the watch closely once she was presented with it. The watch was crafted in a style Shawn liked. But since this model was made at a local production factory, it hadn’t been launched
overseas.
Shawn shouldn’t have been able to get his hands on this one just yet.
Without her knowing, a genuine smile appeared on her face. “Okay, this watch is-”
“Wrap this up for me!” A familiar voice came from behind her. Nicole turned around, and she almost bumped into Olivia.
Olivia immediately reached her hands out and snatched the watch from the salesperson.
“We’re getting this watch, so wrap it up for me.” When Olivia said that, she pulled Gloria to her side.

Nicole immediately frowned at the sight. She remembered Hayden mentioning that Gloria’s chest pain had acted up, and she had to stay in bed because of it.
But not only had she come out the next day with light makeup on her face, but her fair skin showed a rosy, healthy glow.
Nicole’s gaze turned cold. “Ms. Spencer, I had my eyes on that watch first.”
“What did you just call me?” Olivia raised her brow in disbelief. “Ms. Spencer? So you’re not even calling
me Aunt Olivia right now?”
Nicole pursed her lips. If she were Hayden’s wife, she would refer to Olivia respectfully, like Hayden did.
Now that she no longer had any connection to Hayden, however, calling Olivia her aunt would be forcing a
connection that simply wasn’t there.
Nicole answered calmly, “Well, do you really want a niece–in–law like me?”
Olivia wanted to refute, but she suddenly went speechless. She held onto the watch tightly.
“Regardless, we’ll be buying this watch.”
“There is a first–come, first–served basis for everything, and I happen to lay claim to it first,” Nicole
patiently explained.
Olivia scoffed lightly. “So what if you wanted it first? Have you paid for it? Have they agreed to let you purchase this watch?”
