Chapter 64
Caleb had no time to delve into his thoughts. He lowered his head and walked toward Nicole’s bedside.
Hesitantly, he said, “I–I know what I did at the bar wasn’t right. Just because I have my own opinions about you doesn’t mean I should let my friends trouble you on purpose, causing you to faint due to your poor
health…”
Listening to his insincere apology, Nicole narrowed her eyes and lifted her head.
With an impassive face, she asked, “Is this how you’re going to apologize? I didn’t faint because my body
was weak. You were the one who caused it.”
Caleb rubbed the back of his neck and looked at Hayden. Hayden’s gaze was cold, carrying a hint of a
threat.
“Okay. I’m the one who wronged you, and I sincerely apologize. Could you please just let this go and tell
me where my son is?” Caleb adjusted his tone sincerely.
Nicole clenched her fist. “I didn’t escape death just to hear your weightless apologies. I have two
conditions. If you agree to them, I’ll let you off.”
Caleb raised his head, and his eyes lit up. “Just say the word. I’ll do anything you want!”
She scoffed lightly. “Don’t be so full of yourself. Listen to them first.”
She sat up straight. Despite her frail body, she had a presence that radiated undeniable pressure.
“First of all, kneel and apologize to me. I’ll record a video of it, and if you ever cross me again, I’ll publish it.
Caleb’s eyes widened, and he looked at her with disbelief. “What?”
“Secondly, your mistress gave birth to your child. She has cared for him diligently ever since and never caused any trouble, trusting that you meant it when you said you’d marry her. If you marry her, your son will be returned to you.” Nicole looked at Caleb expressionlessly.
These rich playboys only knew how to mess around with women, then toss them aside. They fed them with sweet words, wasted their youth, and got them to willingly have their kids.
Nicole had already suffered enough and didn’t want to see another woman fall for the same trick. Since that woman’s wish was to marry into the Gibson family and bring in her child, Nicole figured she might as well help.
Even if her approach was different, she did what she could to make it happen.
One thing was certain, though. Sleeping with a woman and then walking away with her child like nothing happened was out of the question.
She glanced toward Hayden coldly. He hadn’t the slightest idea of what he had done wrong and backed

away from Caleb. “Think about it carefully.”
Caleb clenched his fists. His face turned red from anger, and his entire body trembled with fury.
He couldn’t accept Nicole’s terms.

“I told you that my family wants me to form a marriage alliance. There’s no way I could marry an ordinary woman with no family background! Also, I would never bend my knee and let you film it!”
Nicole casually raised a brow. “Then don’t come looking for me again. Also, don’t come begging. There’s no way I’m revealing any bit of the child’s information.”
“How dare you?” Caleb yelled. He dashed toward her in a fit of rage.
Hayden reached out and swiftly blocked him. “Nicky’s still sick. Behave yourself!”
Caleb was out of ideas. Thus, he raised his hand and pointed at Nicole.
“Did
you even hear the conditions she brought up? She wants me to kneel and apologize to her? Ever since I was a child, I’ve never kneeled before anyone–not even my parents! Are you just going to sit by
and watch her humiliate me like this?”
Caleb held onto Hayden’s arm tightly. “We’ve known each other for 20 years. We’re practically the same
person! We’re like brothers!”
Hayden frowned at that.
Nicole stared at Hayden’s back, and her nails dug into her palms. This was Caleb’s fault, and he had to
pay for it.
If Hayden had the nerve to speak up for him…
“Nicky.” Hayden suddenly turned around, and his calling her name broke off her train of thought.
