Nicole pointedly said, “It seems that you have a bad memory, Ms. Muller. It’s best if you reinforce your memory of your own work, so that situations like this won’t happen again.”
After she said that, she cast a glance at Hayden.
Hayden instantly caught the hint and gestured at the bodyguards. “Let her go.”
The bodyguards immediately let go of Celia. She looked toward Nicole with gratitude and held the
painting in her arms with a sad expression.
She turned to Gloria and said, “Joanna, you’ve really let me down today!”
After that, she turned around and ran away.
Nicole sighed inwardly. If Joanna found out that someone was impersonating her and damaging her reputation, Nicole could only imagine how furious she would be.
Nicole decided that she had to discuss this with Joanna as soon as possible after she left the country.
She soon retracted her gaze. “I’ll be heading back.”
Before she could leave, Gloria’s voice came from behind.
“Nicole.”
When Nicole turned around, she noticed that Gloria had already put on a nonchalant smile and was walking toward her.
“Thank you for the reminder just now. Recently, my body has been suffering from an illness such that I couldn’t even remember my own work from before. I feel so ashamed,” Gloria explained.
She laughed at herself bitterly and had a clear probing intent in her gaze. “But you seem to know my work well. Could it be that you’ve been my fan for a long time?”
“Yes, I am indeed a fan of Joanna’s,” Nicole replied with an enigmatic smile while focusing on the name
Joanna“.
Gloria was taken aback and subconsciously clenched her palm tightly.
Hayden was clueless about their silent showdown. He smiled as he walked over to embrace Nicole.
“I hadn’t expected Nicky to be your fan. She’s never mentioned it before,” Hayden said.
Nicole retracted her gaze and coldly said, “I’ve been to Joanna’s exhibition many times, but I’ve never heard that she was a local.”
After that, she turned and walked away without turning back.
The smile on Gloria’s face had almost broken apart. While she looked at Nicole from behind, her eyes

were filled with a strong sense of crisis.

Nicole had figured out that she wasn’t the real Joanna. It seemed that she had to make Nicole leave the Spencer family as soon as possible.
Gloria took a deep breath and was lost in thought.
That night, she used her chest pain as an excuse and pestered Hayden late into the night. It was only
when Gloria was at her limit and fell asleep that Hayden got up and went upstairs.
In the ward, Nicole had already fallen into a deep sleep. Hayden walked toward her bedside and gently
held her hand.
Her fingers felt cold to the touch, as though the chill had settled deep in her bones, beyond any hope of
warmth.
He silently tucked her hand beneath the blanket and looked at her face. This was when he noticed that
she had lost weight, and even her eyes seemed sunken.
Hayden pursed his lips as he felt his heart ache. He gently pulled the blanket over her and bent down to place a kiss on her forehead.
“Wait until I’ve taken care of everything. When you’re almost better, I’ll explain everything,” he said.
Nicole’s eyelashes quivered at that. In truth, she hadn’t fallen asleep yet.
When she heard Hayden mention this, she felt her heart go cold. Was he afraid that her body hadn’t
recovered enough to bear the blow of the truth?
She wasn’t as fragile as he imagined her to be. Knowing this was all a lie didn’t mean she had to cling to
him as if she couldn’t live without him.
Presently, Nicole had no desire to open her eyes and face him.
Just then, a loud commotion started from outside the door.
“Where’s Nicole? Nicole! Get out here right now!”
