She actually refused to let him touch her!
“If you want to go crazy, do it somewhere else. Stay away from me!”
The way Claudine looked at him was full of wariness and revulsion.
That look made a nameless anger rise in Damian’s heart.
She was actually despising him!
“Claudine, don’t forget, I’m your husband! You have a duty to fulfill your marital obligations!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Damian felt that he really must be crazy!
Was he actually begging this woman for intimacy?
He had actually fallen to this point!
It must be because he drank too much, and it had been too long since he had any release!
Yes, that must be it!
Claudine stood to the side, her voice cold and clear.
“Damian, don’t forget! We’re getting a divorce!
“If you can’t control yourself, you can go find another woman, but don’t come here to disgust me!”
With that, Claudine turned and left the study.
Damian glanced at the now empty room, recalling the way Claudine had just looked as if she was afraid he would take advantage of her, and couldn’t help but curse under his breath.
Her temper really was getting worse and worse!
Damian leaned his head back against the sofa. At this moment, he inexplicably missed the way she used to cling to him all the time when they had just gotten married.
Thinking carefully, it seemed she had changed a long time ago, no longer like she was when they first married.
When did it start?
It seemed it hadn’t happened all of a sudden.
But he had never noticed.

Or maybe, he had noticed at the time, but back then, he had only felt relieved that things were finally quieter around
him.
But now…
Damian glanced at the door of the study.
He knew very well that Claudine was insisting on a divorce because she loved him but couldn’t have his love.
He also knew that if he were willing to give her even a little bit of genuine affection, this marital crisis would be over.
She would immediately return to the way she was before, her heart and eyes filled only with him.
But he really didn’t want to spend so much energy on a woman.
Since she couldn’t stand that he didn’t love her, then it was better to separate.
Once he stabilized the company, he would give her thirty–five percent of the assets. She wouldn’t be losing out.
After all that just happened, he had no desire left at all, and naturally didn’t want to return to the master bedroom to
rest.
After Claudine returned to her room, she locked the door behind her.
Thinking about what Damian had tried to do to her after drinking, Claudine couldn’t help but wonder if, in Damian’s heart, she was no different from those casual women.
In his mind, that kind of thing was just about physical desire, and it could be with anyone!
She turned on the faucet, letting the warm water drench her from head to toe. The droplets ran down from the corners of her eyes into her mouth, tasting unbearably bitter.
The next morning, Damian woke up in the guest room.
Seeing his clothes hanging in the guest room, he assumed they had been prepared by Claudine.
The frustration he had felt yesterday had mostly dissipated.
He thought to himself that he had been right–Claudine loved him deeply, and even her desire for divorce was be- cause her love had turned to resentment.
He thought, if Claudine could just change her jealous nature a little, maybe he could try to care about her more.
After all, even in his social circle, Claudine was considered a good wife.
After getting dressed, Damian noticed that the cufflinks on his shirt were not fastened properly.
Perhaps Claudine hadn’t done this in a long time and was out of practice.
He didn’t think much of it and went downstairs to the dining room.
When the servants saw Damian come down, they quickly brought the prepared breakfast to the table.

“Where is Mrs. Barrette?”
Damian asked.
Angie replied, “Mrs. Barrette hasn’t gotten up yet.”
Damian paused in his movements. “She hasn’t gotten up yet? The clothes in the guest room weren’t prepared by Mrs. Barrette?”
Angie stood to the side, sensing that Damian’s tone was not very pleasant.
She answered cautiously.
“Mr. Barrette, I’ve been taking care of your clothes during this period. Is there something wrong with them?”
Damian’s brows furrowed slightly, and his voice grew colder.
“I understand. You may go now!”

Claudine arrived at Adriana’s residence.
She knocked on the door for a long time, but Adriana never came to open it.
Worried that something like last time had happened again, Claudine found the spare key and opened the door.
