“Claudine, what exactly do you want!”
Claudine looked at the man in front of her and spoke each word clearly.
“I want a divorce!”
In the courtyard, there was a suffocating silence.
Damian stared coldly at the woman in front of him.
“Divorce?”
He took a step forward, his tall figure under the light looming like a dark, oppressive giant, as if he were about to swallow Claudine whole.
Claudine was forced to take a step back, her body pressed tightly against the car door.
Damian raised his hand and gripped her chin tightly, forcing her to meet his gaze.
His eyes were like cold blades, as if they could strip the flesh from Claudine’s bones.
His voice was gentler than ever before, yet it chilled Claudine to the bone more than at any other time.
“Claudine, stop talking about divorce all the time. You should understand that between us, this is not a relationship where you can act spoiled and use divorce to threaten me!”
Divorce me and still want to take my assets?
“Who do you think you are!”
Claudine’s chin ached from his grip, her eyes reddened reflexively, but she stubbornly refused to give in, holding her head high and glaring at the man before her.
The stubbornness in her eyes made Damian lose focus for a moment.
Claudine seized the opportunity and shoved the man away.
Caught completely off guard, Damian staggered back several steps before regaining his balance.
Claudine looked calmly at the man before her.
She had loved him for years, from the innocence of youth to the withered state of her heart now–it had taken eleven
years.
Looking at him now, this man was nothing special after all…

Her eyes brimmed with tears, but she raised her hand and wiped them away.
“Damian, you really are a bastard!”
“If you refuse to sign the divorce papers, then I’ll see you in court!”
With that, Claudine turned and got into the car.
She quickly started the engine and gripped the steering wheel.
The car shot past Damian like an arrow, brushing close to him as it sped away.
He watched the taillights gradually disappear, his mind filled with the image of that woman, heartbroken as she left.
Damian frowned, thinking Claudine was making a mountain out of a molchill!
Yet the knot in his chest made him feel unbearably irritable.
He glanced at the villa in front of him; the servants had left the lights on for him, and the windows glowed with opu- lent brightness.
But to him, this place felt utterly meaningless.
This house was just too cold and empty…
He walked toward his car, opened the door, and soon left Belmont Villas as well.
At the club.
Inside the lavish private room, everyone was in high spirits, lost in revelry.
Suddenly, the door to the room was pushed open, startling those inside.
These were all well–known heirs in Bronzevale. They were about to curse whoever dared ruin their fun, but when they looked up and saw who it was, each of them obediently shut their mouths and stood up to greet him.
“Dami!”
“Dami!”
At that moment, Desmond had a girl on each arm. Seeing Damian arrive, he patted the girl on his lap and signaled for
her to move.
Damian sat down beside him, picked up a glass, and drained it in one gulp.
“Let them all leave first!”
Desmond was still in the mood to party and didn’t want the night to end so soon.
“Dami, they’re all friends. Let’s have fun together!”
He was about to call everyone back, but Damian shot him a look that made him shut up immediately.

Desmond waved his hand, signaling everyone to leave. Soon, the spacious room was left with just the two of them.
Damian lit a cigarette and drank in silence.
Desmond rarely saw Damian like this.
“What’s wrong? Did Claudine give your wife trouble again?”
Damian tilted his head back and finished the drink in his glass.
“She wants to divorce me.”
For a moment, Desmond thought he must have misheard.
“Divorce? Claudine is really willing to divorce you?”
Damian replied, “Yeah.”
Desmond looked at the man drowning his sorrows in alcohol, even more confused.
“Is it you who can’t let go?”
Damian put down his glass and shot Desmond a cold glare.
Desmond scratched his head.
“Then I really don’t get it. You don’t even like that woman. Isn’t divorce a good thing? Why do you look like the one being dumped!”
Damian slowly exhaled a cloud of blue smoke.
“Sometimes I really envy you. You’ve managed to get this far in life without ever using your brain!”
Desmond said, “Hey, are you insulting me?”
Damian replied, “I’m complimenting you!”
