Only then did Claudine remember that Damian had asked to meet her earlier in the evening.
He probably came here himself because she hadn’t gone to Belmont Villas.
It was obvious he couldn’t wait to get divorced.
Claudine hung up the phone and got up to open the door.
When the door opened, Damian saw the woman in front of him wearing only a silk nightgown, and a glimmer flashed in his eyes.
To open the door dressed like this, really…
All her attention was on her face.
It seemed he had bought these pastries for nothing.
Claudine, however, had no idea what Damian was thinking.
Now, she didn’t even see Damian as a person, so how could she care about her image in front of him!
“Come in.”
She turned and went back to the living room.
Thinking that she would need a clear mind to discuss the details of the divorce, Claudine made herself a cup of cof- fee.
Damian sat down in the dining room with the pastries.
At that moment, Claudine had her back to him. Although her silk nightgown covered everything it should, the close- fitting fabric revealed her perfect figure.
Her fair, slender legs were also exposed even more as she bent over, unintentionally revealing more of her allure.
Noticing the changes in his own body, Damian frowned.
By his calculations, it had indeed been a long time since he had relieved himself.
He cleared his throat, trying to suppress the rush of blood.
“It’s so late, I don’t want any coffee.”
He naturally assumed that the cup of coffee Claudine was making was for him.
When Claudine heard this, she ignored him and sat down opposite Damian with her cup of coffee.

“Let’s begin.”
Claudine said.
She got straight to the point, not wanting any further entanglement with Damian.
But what she didn’t know was that, in Damian’s eyes, she now looked like a piece of sweet, creamy cheese.
Damian tried to suppress the heat in his chest. He wanted to ask Claudine to get him a glass of ice water, but remem- bering the purpose of his visit, he changed his mind and said instead, “I brought you your favorite pastries. I bought them myself. Try some.”
As he spoke, Damian opened the pastry box.
Claudine looked at the things on the table, her eyes darkening for a moment before she quickly let it go.
They were about to get divorced–there was no need to feel sad just because he didn’t know what she liked or dis- liked.
She no longer looked at the pastries on the table.
“Did you bring the agreement?”
Damian clearly hadn’t expected Claudine to have this attitude.
But this just confirmed his suspicion: Claudine had deliberately gone to the law firm today, just to let him know she “wanted” a divorce.
Damian pushed the pastries forward again.
“Aren’t you going to try some? I remember these are all your favorites!”
Claudine frowned.
She didn’t understand why Damian was doing this out of the blue!
To humiliate her?
She had long understood that she meant nothing to him, so why did he have to disgust her again!
Was it to remind her how much she had compromised for him and their daughter all these years?
Claudine glanced at the things on the dining table and took a sip of coffee.
The bitterness of the coffee was nothing compared to the bitterness in her heart.
“These are what you and Darla like to eat. I’ve never liked them!”
Claudine’s voice was cold, betraying no emotion.
The man across from her frowned.

“It must have been Ms. Powell who got it wrong. Tell me what you want to eat, and I’ll arrange it.”
As he spoke, he took out his phone, ready to make a call.
Looking at the man in front of her.
Claudine felt surprisingly calm inside.
She had thought that when the day came to discuss divorce, she would feel sad and reluctant.
After all, she had loved him for so many years; this man had been a part of her entire youth.
She had even had a child with him!
But now, seeing Damian so self–assured, asking his assistant about her preferences.
At this moment!
Claudine felt only regret in her heart.
Regret for all the love and effort she had given!
“That’s not necessary!”
Claudine spoke.
“You came here today to discuss the details of the divorce, didn’t you? Let’s get started!”
Seeing Claudine’s attitude, Damian gradually grew impatient.
His hand, resting on the table, tapped lightly on the surface.
Claudine just looked at him calmly.
He narrowed his eyes and lit a cigarette.
The rich tobacco smoke passed through his lungs, suppressing the irritation rising in his heart.
He finally spoke.
“It’s not what you think between her and me.”
