Thinking about what he had just found out, Desmond himself found it unbelievable.
He leaned in close to Damian’s car and whispered.
“Claudine is meeting another man.
Damian’s pupils contracted for a moment, but he quickly returned to normal.
“Got it. Since she won’t be coming to bother us, just leave her be.”
Desmond thought to himself: As expected, Damian really doesn’t care about Claudine. He doesn’t even mind her hav- ing dinner with another man; his heart is only set on his sister–in–law.
It probably won’t be long before Damian divorces Claudine!
Meanwhile, Claudine and Roberto were having a pleasant conversation.
The two reminisced about many amusing stories from high school and even made plans to visit their old school in Reedport together someday.
Roberto also mentioned that after going abroad back then, he had never returned.
“Actually, I haven’t gone back much these years either.”
Claudine said.
“After I got into Camberwell University, I stayed in Bronzevale for school. I only went back occasionally during the New Year.”
Roberto looked at Audrey,
“Why don’t you go back often? The transportation between Bronzevale and Reedport is pretty convenient.”
Claudine’s eyes dimmed for a moment, then she smiled and said.
“The people I miss aren’t there anymore, so there’s no reason to go back. Otherwise, I’d just be reminded of sad mem- orics…”
Hearing this, Roberto’s heart suddenly tightened.
Was he the one she missed?
Back then, should he have insisted? Should he never have left at all….

Looking at the woman before him, he silently vowed in his heart that this time, he would never let go.
After a while, a waiter knocked and entered.

“Dear guests, it’s snowing outside right now. If you’re interested, you can move to our viewing deck to enjoy the snowy scenery over the river.”
Roberto stood up, his eyes seeking Claudine’s opinion.
“This restaurant is famous for its river view. We’re lucky to be here today.”
Claudine said as she picked up her coat and walked out of the private room.
The waiter beside them spoke.
“There will also be a fireworks show arranged by another guest tonight. You two can enjoy it together later.”
Claudine and Roberto followed the waiter to the viewing deck.
By now, the snow was falling heavily. Snowflakes drifted down, looking especially magical under the neon lights.
Claudine opened her palm, and soon a cold flake landed in her hand.
She looked up at the snowy scene before her, while the man behind her gazed at her….
With a loud “bang,” fireworks suddenly shot up, bursting into brilliant colors in the sky.
Claudine looked up. The huge fireworks bloomed overhead, falling together with the swirling snowflakes onto the
river.
It was breathtakingly beautiful!
Suddenly, cheers erupted from the nearby viewing deck. Claudine looked over and saw some familiar faces.
It was Damian, along with many of his close friends!
A waiter was pushing a huge bouquet of roses over to a woman.
From Claudine’s angle, she could only see the woman’s back, which looked familiar. It was probably the same woman she had seen at the restaurant last time.
Damian walked up to the woman and presented her with an ornate box.
Claudine couldn’t see what was inside the box, but judging by how the girl stood on tiptoe to kiss Damian on the cheek, she must have been very pleased with the gift.
She quickly looked away, refusing to let herself watch any longer.
But she couldn’t control the sour ache in her heart.
So, Damian could also go to such lengths to create romantic surprises for a woman. It turned out that for the woman he liked, he would actively invite her into his circle.

So, Damian wasn’t cold by nature–he was just cold to her…
Noticing Claudine’s low spirits, Roberto asked with concern.
“What’s wrong?”
Claudine forced a smile and said.
“It’s nothing. It’s a bit cold out here. Let’s go back inside!”
Roberto nodded.
He walked beside Claudine like a gentleman, his other hand hovering protectively at her waist.
“Watch your step on the stairs.”
On the other viewing deck, Damian stared in the opposite direction, his eyes clouded with gloom.
He had seen everything that had just happened.
After seeing him, Claudine deliberately acted close to the man beside her, clearly trying to get his attention and make him jealous!
How childish and ridiculous!
Even that man was the same one he had seen at the auction last time!
Audrey, noticing his distraction, followed his gaze and happened to spot Claudine.
Her expression changed slightly.
“Dami, that looks like your wife. Who’s the man next to her?”
Audrey’s voice was just loud enough for everyone around to hear.
Desmond looked over as well and shouted.
