But these were things he would never say out loud.

He would make Claudine fall in love with him again.

Damian spoke, “Deal!”

“I’ll help your brother return to the Hogan Group headquarters and become president. Claudine, since this is a partner- ship, you should also show your sincerity.”

The man’s gaze swept over Claudine.

He had been drinking, a faint flush coloring the corners of his eyes, and under the dim light, his gaze took on a certain allure.

That look was bound to make people think.

Claudine was taken aback.

She hadn’t expected Damian to make such a request.

In the past, when she loved Damian, being intimate with him as husband and wife felt natural.

Claudine brought the medicine box and began to change Damian’s dressing.

When she lifted the gauze, the wound was deep and had been stitched.

Damian thought she was frightened by the wound.

He thought that seeing his injury, knowing she had hurt him so badly, Claudine would feel at least a little guilty.

But to his surprise, Claudine said nothing at all.

She picked up the cotton swab, dipped it in medicine, and gently applied it to the wound.

To make it easier to apply the medicine, Claudine swept her long hair to one side, revealing her slender neck.

As she bent her head to treat the wound, the high-necked sweater revealed a faint bruise.

He knew that yesterday, he must have terrified her.

He reached out, wanting to touch the bruise on Claudine’s neck.
