“Claudy, what’s wrong? Do you have a cold?”

Claudine didn’t want her mother to worry.

“Yes, I think I caught a cold. It’s been raining in Reedport these days.

You must be tired after such a long flight. Go home and get some rest.

“I’m afraid I’ll pass my cold to you, so I won’t come home.”

Claudine used her mother’s words as an excuse.

“How can that be? If you have a cold, you should come home even more. I’ll have the maid make chicken soup for you. Let Mom take care of you when you get back.”

Claudine wanted to refuse again, but Damian snatched the phone away.

“Mom, don’t worry, I’ll take good care of her.”

“Alright, then I’ll bring her home later.”
