I extinguished the cigarette in my hand and said to him in a low voice, “Tell me, when did

this all start?”

Brian still chose to remain silent. I got angry.

“Speak.”

He finally raised his head and looked at me.

“Why are you yelling? I was almost… by you, and now you’re shouting at me.”

I laughed bitterly.

“There’s nothing wrong with me being intimate with my husband. It was dark, and I didn’t know it was you. Even if something had happened between us, it wouldn’t have been my fault.”

He didn’t speak again.

So I got to the point.

“Tell me, has Jack betrayed me? You pretend to be him in my bed every day, is he out there fooling around with other women?”

Seeing that he couldn’t avoid it anymore, Brian simply spilled everything.

It was exactly as I had guessed, not a single detail different. Hearing the truth from his mouth, my pain increased several fold. For the first time, I felt like my heart was being cut by a knife.

Suddenly, I tasted something sweet in my mouth, and a mouthful of fresh blood spurted

out.

Seeing this, Brian no longer stood there stupidly. He quickly ran to my side, looking at me with concern.

“Are you okay? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause you so much harm. I didn’t do it on

purpose.”

“I was also at my wit’s end when I agreed to his unreasonable request.”‘

I clutched my chest.

“Where’s Jack? Take me to him.”

Brian’s face showed his dilemma, but in the end, he got up and put on his shoes and socks, and I followed him out the door.

We arrived at a bar. It was almost 2 AM now, but the place was still bustling with people.

Brian didn’t come in with me. I entered the bar alone. The music was deafening, and my

heart was beating fast along with it.

Brian didn’t come in with me. I entered the bar alone. The music was deafening, and my heart was beating fast along with it.

I pushed through the dancing crowd. In the center of the dance floor, I saw that familiar figure. Who else could it be but Jack?

Each of his movements was pushing the boundaries of decency.

And beside him was a young woman, dancing and interacting with him. Their bodies

were pressed tightly together, and Jack would occasionally reach out to caress the girl’s

face, looking utterly content.

Anger surged through me. I was about to rush forward and teach this pair of cheaters a

lesson.

Just then, an even more unbearable scene unfolded before my eyes. Jack first took a mouthful of alcohol, then turned around, hooking his hands around the girl’s neck. The girl, understanding his intention, kissed his lips.

I stopped in my tracks.

It turns out that when anger reaches its peak, there’s only silence. I no longer had the urge to rush up and tear them apart, because at that moment, my heart completely died.

I don’t know if it was because he sensed someone watching him, but Jack suddenly turned his head. The instant he saw me, his entire demeanor mirrored Brian’s from earlier.

After a long while, he finally reacted, hurriedly letting go of the girl’s neck. He forced a smile worse than crying on his face and prepared to walk towards me.

I quickly raised my hand to stop him, then turned and left.

Just as I reached the bar’s entrance, Jack finally caught up. He grabbed my arm.

“Honey, listen to me. It’s not what you think. I…”

I once again raised my hand to interrupt him, shaking off his grip.

“Don’t touch me.”

My voice was extremely low, but Jack still wouldn’t give up. No matter how many times I shook him off, he kept holding onto me, refusing to let go.

Finally, he ran in front of me and hugged me tightly.

“Honey, it really isn’t what you think. I was just out having some fun. I absolutely haven’t

done anything to betray you.”

“I swear, I…”

“Enough, Jack. Don’t tell me what I saw was just you playing along.”

Jack was left speechless by my retort.

I shook off his hand again and was about to leave when, unexpectedly, the girl who had been passionately kissing Jack earlier came running out.

She suddenly ran to Jack’s side, thinking I was bullying him, and started pointing at me

and cursing.

“Hey, who are you? How dare you bully my man? Do you have a death wish?”

Slap-

Before I could speak, Jack had already raised his hand and slapped the girl’s face.

“Get lost. This is none of your business.””

The girl looked at Jack, bewildered.

I started laughing.

The girl finally realized something was wrong and didn’t dare make any more moves.

Jack was left feeling utterly ashamed by what I said. Just as he was about to come forward and grab me, I immediately moved three meters away from him.

“Alright, since that’s how it is, there’s nothing more to say. Let’s meet at the civil affairs bureau tomorrow!”

Hearing me say this, Jack was stunned. His mouth moved, but no words came out.
