Chapter 15
Cynthia’s fingers brushed over the emerald necklace, and just as she was about to take it off to look closer, her hand froze
midair
A warm ache welled up in her chest. Her vision blurred.
“Mrs Tracey Mom. Her voice trembled as she finally choked out the word. “Thank you.”
Mrs Tracey’s eyes immediately filled with tears. She clutched Cynthia’s hand tightly, overwhelmed with emotion.
“Oh, sweetheart-good girl”
The coolness of the crystal against her collarbone soothed her, as if easing the soreness in her heart.
Though Mrs Tracey hadn’t mentioned it outright, Cynthia knew.
They must have found out about what happened at the auction. That her mother’s bracelet-her only keepsake-had been
destroyed. And this necklace… it was their way of trying to make up for it. Their way of telling her you’re not alone
anymore
They had thought of everything.
The kindness, the effort-they had given her more warmth than she ever thought she’d feel again.
Cynthia was never one to forget kindness. Her heart brimmed with gratitude, but the words wouldn’t come fast enough.
So she could only murmur, again and again, “Thank you… Nate, thank you. And… thank you, dad.”
She reached up to touch the necklace once more, gently, cherishing it deeply.
The three Traceys exchanged a glance and smiled, their joy mirrored in each other’s eyes.
Nathan gently patted her back and pulled out a tissue, wiping away her tears with infinite care.
They now he whispered, “no more tears. You’re the bride today, remember? The most beautiful one. You’re with family
now, there’s no need to carry anything alone anymore.”
Me voice wat warm, like sunlight through a window.
Cyntes arrier blanking back the remaining tears for a moment, it felt like she’d stepped back in time-to when her Dakers were still alive. That same warmth, that same feeling of being unconditionally loved.
The ceremony resumed
Agentie prane melody floated through the air Nathaniel slowly lifted her veil and leaned in, his lips brushing softly
gamist the corner of her mouth
A kiss of promise Tender and real
By the time Aissander afund in tomport the sun was already seking
Even though he’d pushed everything to the linn-suting every comer pulling every string it was still too late. The wedding was over
The once bustling site was now sent, save for scattered flower petals and waying ribbons, edence of the celebration
